Juan Samuel, Philadelphia Phillie (coach)

So, Sammy is back. I was always a Sammy fan. For you younger guys, he was a player who put up prodigious numbers but seemed to never live up to potential. You see, for all the extra base hits, he never met a 2 foot outside slider he didn't like. He played during the transition of performance enhancing drugs from speed to juice and HGH. He was traded for a slightly younger guy who had a major case of bacne and nuts the size of bb's. Most of us liked the way the trade worked out (Lenny led the '93 team to the series), but still hold a place for a hustler like Samuel. He averaged the mythical quad double during his 5 years with the Fightins'. It's nice to welcome back a fan favorite like Juan and hopefully he can bring as much to the table as Davey Lopes.
