Konopka is a big dude.  Briere is meeting with the NHL at 10am  about his cheapshot at the end of the game.

few things:

was the mazeros boarding call really that bad?  they only showed one replay and I thought the refs were calling result more than actual penalty.

Carcillo fight was great

left with about 5 minutes to go in the 3rd so it sounds like i missed some good shtein...what did Briere do?

I think the Mezaros was just bad luck more than anything, and they def called the result which is bullshtein

flyers are looking gooooooood.....if bob the goalie is the real deal and doesnt hit a wall later in the year and they can start getting goals from zherdev we could have a stanley cup on broad street next spring

giroux was absolutely sick last night

I like Bob, don't get me wrong, but he's been awfully lucky this year. He loses sight of the puck too easily. He's raw and young and has a great D in front of him so for that I'm excited. It's great to see a lot of the guys who were hot in the finals (Giroux, Briere, Hartnell) start the season the same way. Giroux is on another level right now. I hate to go igy on JVR but he looks like he's taken a step back in development.

Sick pass by Giroux.  Missed the first period so I can't help with the fight.  If Shelley didn't die and have his cap hit removed simultaneously, it was a loss for the Flyers.

Boogard dominated him, basically looked like a grown up smacking a kid around. Shelly got pissy after he took his beating. I'd say it was 9 to 1 in shots in favor of Boogard. Shelly reminds me of Fedoruk or Cote, definitely not in the heavyweight class.

Anyone going to the Spectrum Saturday morning? $25 gets you access to the building, from there if you can carry it out it's yours. All the seats are in the middle of the floor and ready for taking.
