perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

My contention is Vick is not an excellent QB. Sooner or later he'll revert back to his Hotlanta form...may as well trade him now while his value is high.

trading vick and replacing him with a 50 year old man off the streets who couldnt play two years ago might be the only thing that would look worse than mike kafka being your starter

no, you misunderstand me.  i'm not saying he's in any way preferable.  i'm just sayng that if the trade went down and then kolb got hurt garcia would be the guy they'd call.

phillymic2000

Trade him now and sign Garcia as a back up!! Strike while his value is high!!

Vick says he's 100% healthy and ready to play any role asked of him this week.  DRAMA

While you definitely scored on the "being aggressive in the box" bit earlier, that is no excuse to reinvent yourself as a comedian.

Point of order: Isn't that the same thing as a SAM LB?

Put Vick in the secondary, he could be the Eagles Ed Reed.

This would seem to be a skill that would be wise for Mike to learn.

QuoteRumors begin to swirl on potential Vick suitors
Posted by Mike Florio on November 7, 2010 10:02 AM ET
As Eagles quarterback Mike Vick prepares to return to action more than a month after having his rib cage crunched between two members of the Washington taterskins defense, rumors already have begun to circulate regarding Vick's potential destination in 2011, if he doesn't sign a long-term deal with the Eagles.

Early talk focuses on the team whose players busted up his ribs -- the taterskins.

It nearly as unthinkable that the Eagles would let Vick get to the taterskins as it was for the Eagles to send Donovan McNabb there.  But that doesn't change the fact that the rumor mill is churning with talk of the 'Skins wanting Vick, who'll be an unrestricted free agent in 2011.  Given that, last year at this time, the rumor mill was on full boil regarding Mike Shanahan being the next coach of the taterskins, it's worth keeping an eye on the situation, since the taterskins apparently can't contain themselves once they know what they want.

Then again, it could be that the taterskins are putting the word out there as part of the broader "kick McNabb's butt into gear" campaign, which began last Sunday by benching him in the final minutes of a winnable game against the Lions and continued with a stream of excuses that somehow were uttered with a straight face.  What better way to get McNabb's attention than to create the impression that they prefer the guy who helped chase McNabb out of Philly?

But if the taterskins truly are interested in Vick, they need to consider the impact Eagles coach Andy Reid has on making a quarterback look better than he really is.  For proof of that, the taterskins need only to consider the former Eagles quarterback already in their locker room.

Are the Eagles a taterskins farm team or what?

That analogy only adds up if the former Eagles added to the taterskins roster play well.

At this point, the taterskins appear to be the pasture into which the Eagles retire their spent players.

I can't imagine the Eagles letting Vick go without Franchising him.  Assuming that is something that will still be available in the new CBA.
