not to mention how many safeties and even LB's use the shoulder knock to tackle anymore....almost all of them.

How many times do you see a RB coming through the line full steam and you have LB's and DB's pinball tackling to bring the guy down? Its easier to do than lunging open armed and getting injured, and alot of the times more efficient because the guy is so low to the ground (unless your A. Peterson).

Just because he is a receiver now you're supposed to change your tackling habit? Given the speed of the game, plus they are mentally trained to knock the ball loose for a turnover would be so hard to do.

Is the league office looking into the hit? Defensless player, leading with the crown of your helmet...

I know it's football, and I don't know if Pimp would be any less hurt if Dunta had went in with his eyes up, but you can't, or aren't supposed too, lead with the crown of your helmet.

NFL may start suspending players for violent hits

On Sunday, the Eagles' DeSean Jackson and the Falcons' Dunta Robinson were knocked out of their game after a frightening collision in which Robinson launched himself head first. Both sustained concussions.

Ravens tight end Todd Heap took a vicious hit from Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather that Heap called "one of those hits that shouldn't happen." The team was in contact with the league about the tackle.

I don't know if the league is even looking into it, or if Reid has asked them too. All I know is what the rule says, you can't lead with your helmet.

What was great about tonights game was when they showed clips from some badass safety that's now a coach on the Titans. At least half his hits would have been illegal today

Thats a bang bang play, and if Robinson didnt make that hit, Djack would have peeled off another TD because he was going to beat the guy running with him.  Sucks, but i'm not goign to cry and want to take the fun part out of the game.  They want to make this shtein basketball

Good plan.  Make the ball carrier do something similar to a lacrosse "cradle" so that the defenders don't have to hit as hard to knock the ball loose.  Brilliant!
