i have enough confidence in oswalt now not to worry about things he did while with houston this year.

we can toss out stats all day but in reality it comes down to what oswalt is doing lately and that's pretty damn good.

Well, come on, folks... It's not like this year's Reds are anything like the teams they've trotted out there prior.  Oswalt's performance against the 2010 Reds is much more telling than anything he's done before.  IGY may be a "sky is falling" guy a lot, but he has a real point this time.

That said Oswalt has really turned it on since the start of August, and I have a lot of confidence that he'll do really well.

i dont think his starts this year against the reds mean all that much as far as tomorrow night goes...but they definitely mean a hell of a lot more than his career record against them

Prediction for this year:  Cole coming back as the old Cole and Polanco's professional bat in the 2 hole make this team better.  97-65, win the division, 3rd straight World Series appearance.

That reminds me....listening to Charlie's post game presser last night was funny.  When asked about Halladay's performance he says "That's good managing.  That's real good managing."

Thanks J.  I thought it was Nicholas' report card at first but than realized the youth correctional facility doesn't issue report cards.

bury this quote in a bottle and then dig it up when he doesnt take a hometown discount this winter and signs with the red sox

Quote
"What exactly that is, I'm not sure," rightfielder Jayson Werth said, on the off-day between Games 1 and 2 of the National League Division Series. "It's more of that 'it' factor, I guess you'd say. The guys that we have in our clubhouse played together for a while. A few of those guys have played together longer than I've played with them. So it is a close-knit bond among the group. I think there is something to be said about that.

"But the guys, specifically the guys that we have, are probably like no other guys in the game in regards to their personality and just their overall talent level. We've got some pretty good players on our team."

But are the Phils even going to offer him a "hometown discount" contract?
