The Town - Action, Boston, Ben Afleck...just felt recycled. Ending got a bit too sappy for me too. I'd give it 4/10

how old are you and rome?

Can't speak for Rome.  I just turned 40 this year.  But my dad was a huge movie buff, and our "bonding" was watching old movies he loved together.  Which has made me appreciate the older movies as much/more than the newer.  Hence the Bogart/Cagney bent to my old movie viewing.

EDIT:  Just watched an indy SciFi called Primer last night.  farged up!  Cautionary tale about time travel, I think.  I have to admit I was pretty confused for most of it.  Didn't help that the editing had the background music way louder than the dialogue.  Maybe worth a view, if you're into that sort of thing.

Primer was amazingly good. Do some googling and read up on the making. Pretty interesting stuff.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

It was refreshing to see a movie that didn't feel the need to explain everything to the slowest audience member.

citizen kane is one of the few 10/10s ever made

easily a top 5 of all time

lets talk about this again
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

i watched the wizard of oz the other night with the kid.

good stuff.   still one of the most subversive movies ever made.

its nothing to do with attempting to be intellectual like i could even try to pull that off

its seriously one of the greatest movies of all time and there is no doubt and still fairly watchable even though it was made when rome was in diapers

Rome
