I highly doubt that Howie had any decision in this. Nor Banner or Lurie.

Maybe Reid was convinced by the staff after film review? Did Marty campaign for Vick? Did Reid get talked out of Kolb by him?

Wild to see him make a decision like this.

First he says that running the ball was good and now this a day later. Bizzarro Andy

remember, kolb's here for a year and that's it.  they do owe him 1.4 million next year in salary but that's chicken feed.

I don't see how you can go back to Kolb, not because of what I think of him, but because of this situation.  Doesn't mean they won't.

going to vick was the hard part....going back to cobb is nothing...cobb is the future after all and vick is a free agent

The only disagreement I have is him coming out and saying Kolb is his starter, unless it was a little gamesmanship on his part.  Though I doubt he is that smart.  

it wasnt gamesmenship....he said cobb was his man...and not just right after the game in some sort of kneejerk reaction...not that andy has EVER had a kneejerk reaction as its just not him...but he also more than a day later was still saying it...then he gets called into the office with howie and vick is suddenly the starter....it couldnt be more clear what happened

But what if Vick keeps playing like this?

im not literally saying cobb is the future and vick is a free agent...im saying thats easy simple reasoning as to why or how you go back to cobb...i was responding to legendz saying they will never go back to cobb and that hes done in philly

So some non-Vick talk, I was looking at the Eagles stats Shady has a whopping 23 carries through two games. He has a 6.7 ypc and that is all he gets?

23 isnt bad in an andy reid offense when you were down the entire time in one of the two games

speaking of shady...this helps him out even more between the tackles with vick as the starter because now you constantly have the defense pinned back the whole time with either a spy in the middle and both defensive ends containing the edge.

im just saying andy often doesnt run the ball when hes up...when hes down its just never going to happen

It's more carries than KC gives Jamaal Charles who could be a top 5 rusher if they actually used him like one. Only instead of calling passes with the rest of their plays, they give it to Thomas Jones for 20 Mike Bell-like runs per game.

Assuming this has been posted already but I'm only on page 8 so I'll just say it.

On the way home on the radio, SalPal was on The Fanatic and said that this move had apparently been in the works since Monday morning. They got home from the Detroit and watched the film, and apparently "Andy Reid and Howie Roseman" came to the conclusion that the offensive line was so bad and Vick played so good that putting Kolb out there would be a mistake, because he would get crushed, and possibly be exposed to more head injuries . SalPal said it in a way that made it sound like there were some words exchanged between Reid and Roseman, and that Reid is the one that wanted to go with Vick. But eventually they both came to agree that Vick needed to be the starter. Said they called both Kolb and Vick around dinner time today to tell them, and that the best way to describe Kolb's reaction was "extremely disappointed".
