Eagles work out LB — 10:04 p.m.

The Philadelphia Eagles worked out free-agent LB David Veikune on Tuesday, a source told FOXSports.com.

Veikune (6-2, 257), who was selected in the second-round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, was waived by the Browns on September 7.

It's believed teams shied away from putting a waiver claim in because he had some guaranteed money left in his rookie deal. Because he appeared in 10 games last season, Veikune is not eligible to be signed to any team's practice squad.

Veikune would fit in at SLB in Philadelphia's 4-3 scheme.
