Jackson is competent. Cole/McGlynn is not. Jackson gets the snap off and protects the middle, he's not a grater who's going to make a gaping hole in the middle of the field but he gets the job done. Right now they don't have that, I still wish they'd either sign a veteran like Mawae or make a trade, because I can't think of a more annoying situation to be in as a young QB than to have to worry about the snap or getting killed by a 300 lbs. DT.

Grader.  The word you're looking for is grader.  As in, one of those giant machines that grades the earth as it moves forward, pushing everything out of its way.

Your know-it-all schtick is grating on my farging nerves today.

QB Eagles

Personally I think Mawae is doner than done, and that there probably aren't many options for the Eagles to pursue at center until next offseason. Even worse, right guard is an atrocity on this team right now. Basically the Eagles are in a multi-year rebuild, and for whatever reason they elected to concentrate this past offseason on the D even though they have a new QB to protect.

I expect major OL activity in the draft and free agency next year, but this year it's gonna be free admission to the backfield through the interior. I don't think the Eagles were prepared for just how bad Stacy Andrews was gonna be. Hopefully he just came to camp out-of-shape and will improve as he gets more reps. Being merely adequate would be a big improvement.

Something I didn't see mentioned in this thread was how much Mike Bell sucked.

More than Phreak hoping Kolb is the worst QB ever?

Yeah but with McNabb it was known that he'd be off at times. But when the crowd who loved McNabb being run out of town point out Kolb's strengths and why he'll be better the leading reason is always "oh he's so accurate" or "he puts the ball where his receivers can do something with it".

Yeah, neither of those things happened the other night and it all wasn't because of the OL issues.

oh my god! a young qb who has started 2 games played poorly in a preseason game! sound the alarm its all coming to an end!!!!!
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Former Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning and future NFL MVP (per IGY) Tony Romo both played like crap this weekend too.  And McNabb didn't play at all.

So, the NFC East is going to have awful QB's, right?

The only thing Phreak wants more than Donovan McNabb back behind center for the Eagles is Brett Myers back on mound for the Phillies.

And carbs.  Lots of carbs.

Are you a mind reader?  :-D

Myers is dealin this year

But I am not rooting for the failure of Kolb. I'm not one of those people who follows 5 to Washington.

Why? Because I think Kolb has not looked good? Or because I think people should wait before dropping to their knees to anoint him the savior from the 'horribly inaccurate choker who is better off out of town'?

Agreed. Mawae is cooked.

I think Jackson is adequate and at the very least knows the protection calls well and can snap the shotgun. He is not some savior there though. The interior OL needs to be addressed.

I hope someone falls off the Cut Tree this weekend or next.

Or make a trade.

you are looking for any reason to kill him

what you should be is excited and optimistic because we know have an unproven, question mark of a qb instead of a corny, spiteful choking dog. he may be good, he may not but in the least this should be fun.

you are expecting him to be bobby hoying and cant wait for it to happen.
