If Ryan Lead is a 1 and Peyton Manning is a 10, I'd guess Vick would be a 3.

I thought Austin Howard looked good too.  For a guy that has been getting some hype he went out on the field and backed it up.  He had a few pancakes.  Overall what I noticed is a lot of the guys there have been a buzz with at camp went out on the field and proved it.

Quote from: Butchers Bill on August 14, 2010, 01:43:44 PMFrom what I could see at the game, it appeared as if Vick was confused about how much time should have been on the clock (40 vs 25 seconds).  Kolb didn't have any time issues, and neither did Kafka.

That is good news.  If the Eagles manage to waste a lot fewer TOs this season, I guess I'll have to put some of that blame on McNabb's shoulders.  And it will be interesting to see if Washington has a marked increase in stupid clock management this year.

Until then, my story is that the atrocious clock management skills on display under Reid are his fault and I'm sticking to it.

Vick appeared more competent than last year but still useless as a QB. The day he heads out of town can't come soon enough.

Until then, my story is that the atrocious clock management skills on display under Reid are his fault and I'm sticking to it.

One of the biggest issues in the past was getting the play in fast enough so that the QB could get to the line and read the defense.  It was the first preseason game, but every time Kolb had the ball he was at the line with at least 10 seconds left on the clock.

So hopefully it was either McNabbs fault all those years, or Reid has finally learned to get the play in quickly.  I'd be satisfied with either.

McNabb burned at least one time out last night and he only played for two series I believe. Kind of leaning toward McNabb more so then Reid. Other than Vick using two (one they were actually out of time, the other looked like confusion on the O in regards to lining up) neither of the other QBs were pressing for time to snap the ball. Both Kolb and Kafka had plenty of time at the line pre-snap.

* I think Jeremy Maclin is going to have a huge season. Coverage is going to roll to Pimp, who will beat whatever and whoever they send his way. Maclin and Celek will feast on the middle of the field.

Glad you didn't make any catch predictions (Avant 80 catches this season!)

That was not a far fetched prediction. He would have to average 5 catches a game. In an offense that throws a lot and runs a lot of 3WR sets.

He could have done it.

other than TO no eagle wr has ever caught more than 70 passes have they?

and you called out a #3 wr to catch 80?

it was an outrageous predicition any way you look at it

TO never had 80.

Westbrook, Fryar, Byars and Jackson are the only ones to surpass 80.

TO never had 80.

thats my point....not even TO could get 80 under reid but a #3 wr was going to do it?

And Maclin hadn't shown anything yet when I made that, I was expecting his rookie year to be certainly less than what it was.

And Curtis was hurt then, I think.

no #1 wr has ever done it under reid...not even a hall of famer catching passes from your hero

why would friggin jason avant ever do it?

Because, as I explained, the outlook was somewhat grim at WR in an offense that throws a lot. And the guy has good hands.

5 catches a game. For a slot guy with good hands.
