game wednesday was higher rated in philly than ny (both on myphl channel), and the game out rated the nba in philly but not in a ny

all this means is philly > ny like we didnt know that already

I thought Philly was a basketball town?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

that girl looked like she would be a pleasure to deal with on a daily basis

Wheels wanted to bone her so bad.  They must have had her on about 10 times after Beasts' catch.

There's far too much positivity in this thread.

so in a harmless article about the lack of stolen bases, Davey Lopes made a comment that Utley's been bothered by a knee injury, which raised some eyebrows.  Salisbury went to Amaro to ask about it and Rube threw Lopes under the bus and backed over him a few times...

For two weeks, Phillies officials, including general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. and manager Charlie Manuel, have shot down speculation and rumors that an injury is the cause of Chase Utley's extended hitting slump.

"He's absolutely healthy," Amaro has said several times over the last couple of weeks.

"There's nothing wrong with Utley," Manuel said in Boston last weekend. "He's completely fine."

That is not what Davey Lopes, the team's first base coach and baserunning guru says.

In an interview with Baseball Prospectus, Lopes says that Utley has been "hampered a little bit by a knee injury."

That doesn't sound like what Amaro and Manuel have been saying.

Amaro had a sharp response to Lopes' comment on Friday afternoon.

"Davey Lopes is not a doctor. He's not our spokesman. He has given out wrong information," Amaro said in a telephone interview with CSNPhilly.com. "Chase is not injured. There is no injury. I will dispute what Davey says. That is false and incorrect information."

Amaro, for the first time, did admit that Utley has dealt with some soreness in his knee. Amaro was not sure which knee was affected.

"He has had some intermittent soreness like any other player has over the course of a season," Amaro said. "Guys get soreness in their wrists, their ankles. Pitchers get soreness in their shoulders after they throw. That does not mean they are injured. Every guy who puts an ice pack on is not injured."

Amaro was asked if the team had administered an MRI on Utley's knee.

"No," Amaro said. "There is no injury. It is not an issue. I don't even think he's on our injury report."

Amaro was not certain when the soreness started in Utley's knee, nor was he certain if the soreness was still present.

An official from an opposing club recently told CSNPhilly.com that his team's scouting reports said it looked as if Utley was playing hurt.

Lopes made the disclosure in an interview about the Phillies' decline in stolen bases. Utley was 23 for 23 in stolen-base attempts last season and has just four steals this season.

A decline in stolen bases is not the alarming part of Utley's game. The second baseman's usually productive batting stroke has vanished in recent weeks. He is hitting .158 in the last 21 games, and his batting average in that span has tumbled from .307 to .257.

Utley has a history of not wanting to reveal injuries. He repeatedly denied having a hip issue during the second half of the 2008 season, only to have surgery after the season.

If Utley is hurt, it hasn't shown in the field recently. He showed excellent mobility and range in making several outstanding defensive plays on the Phils' recent road trip.
