That was phenomenal last night.  I almost trickled a little poop when it got to 4-3, but still... WE are gonna win the Cup, fargers.

WE!

watched the VS replay this morning, how horrible is their broadcast.  I just wish there was a way to get CBC easily.  When i do move, i'm going to get a cband satellite dish just to get canadian tv.  http://tsn.ca/nhl/  check out the video of the highlights on the right.  VS never showed Duncan Keith giving a shot at Leighton going to the bench, never showed Pronger intentionally smashing his stick to give them a few extra seconds to clean up the ice and get them rest.

canadian tv is actually really well done, not just the hockey coverage

they simplify everything and still do the great musical montage intros leading into a killer theme song (like the nba on nbc used to). we try to be too hip or too commercial or just ignore it.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I really like Canadian tv when we go up to Maine, the commercials are hilarious, they have titties on tv after 8pm, and you're right its all very simplistic.  They don't over do it like tv down here.

I know there arent a ton of Briere fans here, but i gotta give the guy props for the Briere Bunch.  A guy on a flyers board i go to has a son who has cancer, Briere called him up pre game 5 of the montreal series and talked to his son directly.  Last night the guy gets a call, they are making arrangements to get him and his son from Minnesota over to Chicago for game 5.  Class act

Briere the person isn't the problem. Briere the player who disappears for long stretches and has huge defensive lapses and is useless along the boards is the problem. He has skill that most of the roster lacks and to his credit he always shows up for the playoffs in terms of offense, but when he isn't scoring he is f'ing useless.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Are you saying that Briere brings a lot of toughness and solid defense to the team?

Or are you just calling me negative?

Wait. Actually. I don't care. So never mind.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

actually i was trying to protect him from the homer brigade...you pg phillymic et al will come hard with the pitchforks and torches if anything in this thread even remotely resembles a criticism of the flyers...or a compliment of refs or non flyer announcers

QuoteGame 3 drew the largest TV audience for the Stanley Cup finals on cable in eight years.

The Flyers' 4-3 overtime victory over the Blackhawks on Versus on Wednesday night earned a 3.1 rating and averaged 3.6 million viewers. It was the highest-rated and most-watched telecast in network history.

3.1 rating is the highest in network history.  Three.  Point.  One.  That probably rivals a nationaly televised regular season baseball game.

That's pretty good for it being on an obscure channel like versus i'd imagine.  Maybe MDS can enlighten us, but I'm pretty sure if this game was on an actual channel ie one of the big three or ESPN this series probably would have gotten pretty farging good ratings.
