one of these games Leighton has to be really good right?  he's been average or below and they have still been in every game.  his save on Hossa in the 3rd was the only really "great" save i can remember.

The Carter goal wasn't his fault and the Kane goal I can hardly blame him for, the softy he let in from Sobel was a disgrace. He needs to play better in the sense that he has to stop letting in the easy ones. Chicago has had the benefit of luck and bounces in this series.

i know you can't "blame" him for the kane goal, but a stanley cup winning team needs its goalie to make stops like that now and then

Listening to 670 the score this morning out in Chicagoland, you would think the hawks were down 2-1 in this series. A ton of bitching about the reffing and Pronger. The one host was at least level headed in his thoughts: Pronger is really really good he logs trmendous minutes out there, he is in my head. He gets me angry just being on the ice, just seeing him skating around gets me. Good stuff.

Leighton has not been stanley cup caliber at all. Take away the soft goals by chicago and the Flyers are up 2-1 and game two goes into OT. He needs to step up. Immediately.

niemi to me is the reason it's 2-1 chicago and not the fylers up in the series going into firday's game.

chicago has laid game one eggs all post season that that was the one to get...and again chicago played a terrible game...it was right there for the taking...flyers had three different leads in the game and scored five goals...which was five more goals than leighton made saves

clearly if they lose the series that game and performace by leighton will haunt forever

I think the point is that the Flyers have scored enough goals to be winning right now. Niemi playing better than Leighton/Boucher thus far is no great feat.

agree the flyers have score enough but the flyers could have scored quite a few more if it weren't for niemi. like i said either way you wanna lean it has come down to the goalie play and leighton has definitley let in some softies.
