Munson

Yeah they lost i was expecting a post from him.

If they lose one of the next few by a couple runs, he'll stop by to let us know which NL East team is ready and poised to overtake them by this time next week.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Right now that would be the Nats.  What?  Only a game back.

I went and saw some Phillies AA games.  Aside from Brown, the cupboard is bare.

btw, does amaro hace the balls to go after oswalt ?

I don't know if the Astros will move him.  Oswalt is in tight with the owner and I think the only way they look to move him is if Roy asks to be traded.

Here's the thing though.....even if Houston does shop him, will the Phils give Amaro the green light to get him?  His salary this year is 15mil, so if they get him around the trade deadline, the Phils would probably be on the hook for 4 or 5 mil unless Houston takes on his entire salary as part of the deal.  Would you rather have Oswalt at 5mil or Lee at 8mil?  Plus, Oswalt is due 16mil in 2011 and again is 2012 (although he does have a 2mil buyout option on the final year).  Not to mention that the Phils would have to give up some prospects to get him and I thought that the whole point of trading Lee was to replenish the farm with the prospects they gave up to get Halladay?  If Oswalt were in the final year of his deal, then maybe I could see the Phils going after him for another post season run, but the fact that he's got 2 yrs/32mil left on his contract, the Phils would come off looking like morons if they brought him in after getting rid of Lee.

And do you really want 2 dudes named Roy on the same pitching staff?

Their class A teams have a few good pitchers and are a little heavily stocked.

Sgt PSN

I think he's talking about players who are, or are close to being ML ready.  Out of the Class A teams though, maybe 1 or 2 of them will actually make it to the bigs and be productive.

ice grillin you

oswalt said yesterday hed wave his no trade to be moved but yeah they definitely arent taking on his contract

like sarge said it would be an absolute comedy of epic porportions if they got oswalt six months after trading lee.....its simply 1 billion percent not happening...in fact there is almost no chance they get even a number two type startetr because of how silly it would be...they will make a move in the pen or do nothing at all imo...barring a serious injury of course...if that happens anything is possible

Jim Edmonds has become a terrible outfielder.  He's badly misplayed some balls tonight.
