stop it. its no worse than any other provider out there. everyone gets dropped calls some time or another...and depending on area--even more.

this best network argument has been going on since the inception of the cell phone. wonder why?

If by "recently" you mean in the last few years, then yes.


The biggest barrier to the iPhone expanding to Verizon/Sprint from AT&T is the major difference in GSM and CDMA technology.  CDMA phones are basically held hostage by Qualcomm and are different from GSM and more complicated.  Also, CDMA is used basically nowhere else in the world.  That said Verizon has a huge subscriber base that Apple covets and a much more reliable voice network.  Sprint is a much smaller fish but would allow Apple to sort of "pilot" the CDMA iPhone with 4G speeds and a much smaller subscriber base.  That said Verizon brass is not usually ok with Sprint getting any shared technology first, and rumor has it that Apple is looking much further out than this Summer for an intro.  Last I heard late Fall is an optimistic target.
