watched District 9 last night.  really liked it.

was put off first by the documentary style, but liked the movie a lot more when they went away from that.

Paranormal Activity - if you're into the Ghost Hunters bullshtein you'll probably like this flick. Average girl in the film with huge cans, but there's no payoff.

Went to see Alice in Wonderland last week. Not terrible, and there were some interesting effects (like shrinking Helena Bonham Carter and giving her a big, bulbous head).

i was in a really zesty depressed farging mood earlier so i decided to go see a movie.  for whatever reason i ended up seeing hot tub time machine and i have to say it was one of the funniest goddamn movies i've ever seen.

the best part of it was watching couple after couple leaving the theater because they thought the movie sucked.  and maybe they were right but i still laughed my face off, often when no one else was laughing.

cusack is a genius and rob corddry is frigging hysterical in this movie.

a+ for everything including lots of naked boobs, awesomely awful 80's music, and literally dozens of references to 80's movies and pop culture.

Did you hear about the Morgans: Was the movie playing on my flight in.  So I fired up my laptop and played a copy of "The Men Who Stare at Goats" instead.

The Men Who Stare at Goats: This movie had potential.  Even though the premise was absolutely ridiculous, it was quirky enough to keep my attention. And for a while, I was actually enjoying. But it really fell apart at the end.  You know an ending is bad when you are watching a movie, about supposed military psychics, lead by a hippie who was shot in 'nam, and is completely funded by the government and you say to yourself "Wow, this ending is completely out of place and not even the least bit believable".  Ugh.  Didn't hate it, but I certainly would not recommend it.

2012:  I usually have a high tolerance for suspending my disbelief with these type of movies.  but 5 minutes of John Cusack's evasive maneuvers with a limousine and then RV to avoid various devastating earthquakes and volcanos was enough for me to say "What the farg?"

must watch for baseball fans. one of the best sports movies ever. not even really a sports movie, which helps. just a terrific, gut wrenching character piece. also, plenty of unintentional MA jokes.

I laughed, and most of the scripting was reasonably clever.  But not as clever as Tucker Max's book or blog.

If that wasn't rediculous enough...they made it seem  like Yellowstone National Park was a quick 15 minute drive to Los Angeles. Hell, the city over ain't even a 15 minute drive. Ain't even.
