i dont think vick will do this team any good as the backup and still not covinced the eagles will pay $5milf plus to do it. i could see the eagles releasing him and brininging garcia. not really a stretch and im sure many others have thought the same.

F that report. Vick won't be on the opening day roster. I'd like to see them bring in Garcia and draft another QB late to turn into a project. Garcia knows the offense like the back of his hand, and can still be somewhat effective running it in case of injury. He'd also be cheap as hell.

do you really want such a huge presence who clearly wants to be the man behind your young qb just as he becomes the full time starter

Um... yes. They coddled and protected their last QB with backups that had no aspirations of starting. Regardless of talent level. And as soon as they did bring in QBs that could potentially challenge for the starting job... everything went to crap. I want a QB who can rise above pressure, especially the pressure of losing your job. It's better to know right away if Kolb can handle that or not.

you miss the point entirely.

if you want to give kolb competition that's fine the problem is but you'd have kolb having to deal with a guy who wouldn't shut-up about hoping he gets to start someday which yeah would do wonders and while i think he'd handle much better the 5 it's unesseccary.

plus, if there was ever a need for him to start it more then likely would be a disaster. at $5mil.

Domowitch seems to agree, he was on DNL the other day and said he thinks they will just hold on to him until someone's starting QB gets hurt.

not when youre handing over the reigns to a first time starter....you simply do not want a presence  like michael vick behind him...if vick was a jerk off and a great qb or great prospect that would be different...but not only is he a horrible tutor to have with cobb hes a terrible qb to boot

its not good for the kid the team or the fans...that aint coddling thats football 101....you dont trade mcnabb then have vick behind cobb...if you want an open competition then keep them all and have them duke it out

but the way the eagles have conducted this whole qb fiasco it wouldnt surprise me if they go in that direction

altho i agree with the people above who say vick could even probably will be gone

its pretty clear, they'll move him during or after the draft, i think theyll draft a qb in the 5th-6th round to serve as a backup

IF vick and donovan go no chance their top two are cobb and riley skinner...they will bring in a vet at that point

Vick during his interview post Kolb interview told Sal Pal it was the first time he had ever worked out on the offseason.  He then said, well this early.  So he definitely took the AI route to his offseason

QuoteShooting occurs at Mike Vick's birthday party
Posted by Mike Florio on June 25, 2010 11:30 AM ET
Eagles quarterback Mike Vick, who remains on federal probation following a two-year prison term for dogfighting, celebrated his 30th birthday with a party at a Virginia Beach club.  And, apparently, one of the games was pin the tail on the donkey.

With bullets.

A shooting reportedly occurred as the club was closing.  A fight broke out, and then someone whipped out the ultimate peacemaker.

One man was shot, per WTKR, which also cites unnamed sources in reporting that the shooting occurred at the party.  The victim initially refused treatment but then went to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesman said that the victim and witnesses were being "uncooperative."

The invitation to the party boasted that taterskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall and Colts safety Antoine Bethea would be attending, along with former NBA star Allen Iverson.  (That is, we think they meant Antoine Bethea of the Colts; the invitation says "Antwoine.")

Though there's no indication that Vick was involved in the shooting, the mere fact that someone possibly came to the birthday party of a guy on federal probation with a gun in his (or her) possession could invite the feds to examine very closely whether Vick has honored all terms of his supervised release -- which usually includes not hanging out with folks who carry guns.

I am fascinated at the fact that these supposed grown men throw themselves birthday parties.
