i remember gocong had a pretty decent game against the pats a few years ago.....the one that aj feeley started i believe.  jj was throwing a lot of 3-3-5 out there for that game and gocong seemed to peform well.

Nothing really made me happy about that defense.

Killa and the DTs...that's about it.

Trot coming back too.

Other than that...I've got nothin'.

They need badass attitudes on that side of the ball. Weatherspoon is a good start.

tackles are slighty above average at best...their lack of penetration and playmaking ability is pretty bad...which is surprising because i thought bunk would be a stud...and if he wasnt i thought hed be out of the league by now...hes exactly the one thing i never imagined...nondescript

I thought he'd be a stud or washout too. Him and Patterson are guys who take up blockers. That's fine.

But only if you have LBs to take advantage of it.

The Eagles don't.

yeah, i think bunk and patterson do a pretty nice job clogging up the middle and getting some occasional pressure on the qb.  and as phreak said, if the eagles had some play makers at lb, then the dt's would get a little more recognition. 

they might not be studs, but they are far from being a liability on defense.

The addition of a 3rd guy who isn't completely pathetic to rotate in with them and give them a break every once in a while might be nice to have too.

As far as needing attitude that is something they are in desperate need of.  They really need a guy in the front seven that just kills mofos.

Same. He and HoF Celek could be nice in two TE sets if his knees hold up.


Celek's blocking definitely improved as the year went on too. Just don't expect him to go one on one with Ware.

RE: the DTs. I read a few places that the Eagles don't want them up the field, its part of the scheme to stay on the line and try and clog things up. Of course that scheme makes perfect sense with undersized tackles known for getting pressure in the backfield.
