The Eagles are making their splash now.

Just an hour after tendering restricted free agent Mike Bell an offer sheet, the team has traded defensive end Chris Clemons and a fourth-round pick to Seattle for defensive end Darryl Tapp, according to a team source.

A 4th round draft pick would have been younger and cheaper, and not have spent the last 3 years starting less and less games.

youre comparing a hypothetical 4th rounder to a current nfl player???

people always make fun of the eagles for worshipping draft picks and now they trade a mid round pick for a young established player that they like and you have a problem with it

I'm just saying you used young and cheap as a main argument for the trade when a 4th round draft pick would have been younger and cheaper.


And lol at "established". Established to ride the bench just like Clemons did. This guy had half a sack less than Clemons did last year, and that's with 5 games started. He's had one "good year", which was in 2007, and has started a decreasing amount of games since then.

In other words, he's Chris Clemons. Which they already had. They also had a 4th round pick, that most likely would have been wasted, but then again it could have been another blind luck Trent Cole.

and hes not even close to chris clemons...clemons was more a 3-4 type edge rusher who wasnt a four down guy...tapp is a classic big 4-3 end who can play the run very well...hes not going to get you tons of sacks and wreak havoc like a peppers...you think you can get that for a fourth round pick?

Just getting Clemons off the roster is worth a 4th round pick.  I'm happy to see someone else in his roster spot.  As for Tapp, I have no idea about the guy.  Can't be much worse than Chris.
