that's pretty assinine.  if the pats and eagles are so good at doing their homework then they'll still have an advantage

basically what Mayock was saying where some teams kinda pick blindly and dont have the best scouting, they're getting an extra day to review tape/reports on lower ranked players.  I can see it, sure it'll help the teams that historically love those rounds, but to give a team extra time if they're drafting earlier should mean they'll get those guys before a team like the Pats have a chance to draft.  I just thought it was an interesting look at how the new format changes strategy

i don't see the eagles making a move on any RFA's.
This..  They value draft picks too much.

Also saw Mayock talking about the draft schedule now, and how teams like the Pats/Eagles who historically do well in the later rounds are not happy with the 3 day format, since it will leave more time for other teams to do their homework.  It very well may make all later picks worth less than they were before.

On the other hand, they gave up an first and a fourth + for Peters last year. Certain positions they place a premium on and DE is one of them (QB, OT, DE,CB). I'm just not sure Edwards is worth a first. It comes down to if you want more of a known commodity, or more of a risk with a higher upside (and also the risk you won't be able to get someone you particularly want in the draft). The move wouldn't surprise me at all if the Eagles think Edwards is a really solid DE.

Yup, with the farged up leg, he would fit right in.

I'm ignorant on that point.  He's a gimp?  The injury was that bad?

And I agree with you.

Get.

dude had a compound leg fracture. you think the eagles are going to give up a 2nd rounder for a rb and offer him a contract? Jets will keep him

yeah but peters was a trade and is more of an exception. don't know who they have made such a move on (RFA) and given up picks. they may have but i just cant think of who.

plus i am more focusing on this year. i just don't see them doing that, if anything they are looking to get additional picks.
