FWIW. I'm convinced Salpal just makes shtein up because he sucks as a reporter and has no talent or ability to fall back on. We'll see with this one.

QuoteReport: Seahawks want McNabb or Kolb, no one wants Vick
Posted by Mike Florio on March 10, 2010 9:10 AM ET
During a Tuesday appearance with Mike Missanelli of 97.5 The Fanatic in Philly, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio dropped a couple of bombs regarding the current quarterback situation in Philly.

Paolantonio said that the Seattle Seahawks have been contacting the Eagles "non-stop" regarding quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb.  As we reported last week, the Eagles have been hearing from multiple teams regarding McNabb, but the Eagles have not yet entertained any offers.

But offers apparently will come; Paolantonio says that Seattle coach Pete Carroll wants to win right away, and in Carroll's mind that includes getting McNabb or Kolb.  And Paolantonio says that he now firmly believes that McNabb will be traded by the Eagles at some point in the offseason.

Meanwhile, Paolantonio also said that the well has gone dry on Mike Vick, and that no one is interested in trading for him.  "St. Louis has dried up," Paolantonio said.  "Buffalo, dried up."

It appears, then, that the Eagles are banking on something occurring later in the year to create a market for Vick.  Possibilities include a starting quarterback struggling in offseason drills, a torn ACL injury during red-jersey practices or the preseason, or the decision of a 40-year-old quarterback who runs a very similar offense not to return for another season come August.

I'm not strongly on one side of the fence or the other with McNabb, I could take or leave him for one more year. To me the biggest thing  comes down to maxing the return on trading him. They have more holes in the starting line up than any off season in recent memory and haven't done anything with FAs so far, so it would be good if they could get a 1st rounder for him.

One thing that concerns me about McNabb is that because he's been fairly healthy the last couple of years people don't tend to think of him as injury prone anymore. If he were to get a major injury this year he'd be right back to fragile again, and the comp would would take a hit. Next year he'll be tagged and auctioned. Sell high now probably gets the best return.

^ this.

i have been a mcnabb fan since day one. i wanted no parts of ricky williams at that draft. we had staley who porved himself on the worst offense in the nfl two straight years at the time.

without getting into a long story i just feel it's time to move on. we went as far as we can with him as the qb. not saying i think kolb is the answer but get something in return for mcnabb and try to re-tool the roster. shoot, a high 2nd rounder would do it for me.

QuoteJeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports via twitter that free agent cornerback Marlin Jackson has left Philadelphia. McLane said there was mutual interest between Jackson and the Eagles. But McLane says Jackson is leaving to visit the Jets.
