The Bears and Julius Peppers finalized a six-year deal to bring the top free agent in 2010 to Chicago, according to a source. Peppers was looking for at least $12 million a year in the early part of the contract and agreement could be worth $40 million over the first three years. The 6-foot-7, 283-pound Peppers is a five-time Pro Bowler who recorded 10.5 sacks with two interceptions and five forced fumbles last season.

Yeah, and Kenny Phillips has a lot of promise but it's possible his career may be over.

I dont know where you heard that, but that couldnt be further from the truth. If the season started tomorrow, Phillips would be on the field.

He has arthritis in his knee and had microfracture surgery after missing almost all of last season. He can only jog in a pool now but not on land.

If your buddy says Phillips could go out and play tomorrow, most others would disagree, including Kenny Phillips, who also has some good inside information.

Phillips says he's at the halfway point in his rehab. He spends his time walking forward and backward on a treadmill. He's hopeful that after his next MRI he'll be ready to begin running in late March.
