Do you guys mind giving me the cliff notes on the uncapped year? Don't get it. Better yet...what would other teams do in this instance?

cliff notes:

-- New Orleans, Indianapolis, Minnesota and the Jets can only re-sign their own FAs or sign players that were released

-- Dallas, Arizona, San Diego and Baltimore can sign one player that makes at least $5M/yr and any number of FAs that make no more than $3.3M + 30% increase in any year (so they can't sign a player to a $1M deal for 2010 and $5M+ for 2011)

-- If any of these 8 teams loses a free agent, they can replace him with one player that makes up to the amount spent by the other team.  For example, if this was in place last year, the Eagles could've spent up to $3.4M/yr on any FA since they lost Dawkins for $3.4M/yr.

-- The other 24 teams can go nuts in FA without any restrictions

i'm going to start a petition to officially change cliffs notes to easys notes.

Why not? They've gone after one of the top FA as often as not over the past few years.

Maybe, maybe not. If I were to bet I'd say it would work out better, especially if there's a good bit of incentives in his contract.

Bently went to Cle because they were his team of choice all along to play for, the FO could have out bid cleveland

I'm leery of Peppers. I'd love to get him, but I also think back to Kearse as Dio said.

The Eagles didn't drop out, Bentley never gave them a chance to match (same with Moss in NE by all accounts)
