jerruh's also bearing a lot more risk. if the team tanks and misses the playoffs again for another 2 or 3 years I'll bet he'll be hurt much more than Lurie would.

you vastly underestimate how wealthy jerry jones is...he had more money when he entered the nfl than lurie does now

He's hardly worth any more than his new Mega-Toilet. If NFL revenues go down 10% he's going to feel it a lot more than Lurie.

yeah, not too sure about Jerry Jones hurting anywhere no matter the outcome of a seasons loss....hes ridiculously paid

dude jumped up 29% in one year in the forbes rankings at 1.8 bill, and rather than pocket revenue from the frachise seat licensing, he used the proceeds to pay down 425mill in debt. he'll be just fine, and Id take him as an owner any day of the week--minus the pickup of Roy Williams

and pacman jones.  and t.o.  and drafting quincy carter in the 2nd round.  and hiring barry switzer, chan gailey and wade phillips.

all teams bad or worse player acquisitions and while those coaching hires are awful he did hired bill parcells and jimmy johnson

how about 1 playoff win in the last decade vs 10

i still take the titles everytime

plus theres no guarantee that in the next twenty years jj wont win more superbowls than lurie

and of course hes already +3 in that category

you dont trade jeffy for jj for the next 20 years if it emant that the eagles had three bowls in the last twenty years??

while the eagles have obviously had more success over the last 10 years than dallas, those playoff wins are pretty meaningless at this point without at least 1 championship.

no team can be good/great all the time and it's only natural to have "down years" but one thing i'll give dallas credit for is that when the super bowl window was open, they took full advantage.  the eagles on the other hand, had the benefit of being a suprerior team in a weak conference and could only get to the big game one time.

while overall i like lurie better than jj that is what scares me the most about lurie and what puts jj over the top

when the eagles have a good to very good team for them to win a title they still need every last little thing to fall into place...because they arent going to veer off course to strengthen their chances beyond that

where as if dallas has a good or very good team i would have confidence that jj will go out and try to put it over the top so a lot less things have to bounce the right way for them to win

The problem with that line of thinking is that Jerry Jones hasn't shown in a long, long time, he's capable of picking the right thing(s) to put it over the top. He's been missing horribly the last few years too. Not for lack of effort though.
