now knowing the uproar it has caused i wish i hadnt done it

i just simply wished you hadn't watched it.  why man, why?  were you in the hospital and the nurses hid the remote from you?  do you have a niecethat really wanted uncle havas to watch with her?  are you trying to learn about white people?

i was on a cruise with extremely limited viewing options...it happened to be on and i watched it

i forgot i also saw seven pounds....utterly ridiculous premise with nothing redeeming whatsoever but for some reason the ending really got to me and saved what really is a pretty bad movie

5/10

going from bad to worse homey.  now you're saying that instead of hanging out at the pool bar with isaac and watching copious amounts of eye candy stroll back and forth, you stayed in the room and watched hannah montana.....along with a half dozen other movies?

the same five movies played on a loop for the entire ten day cruise...it wasnt hard to catch each one of them at least once

i think i saw sweet home alabama 15 times on my cruise
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

was in a booze induced sick spell for a few days so i caught up with a few movies.

the cove -- doc about the slaughter of dolphins in japan.  less on the hippy tree hugger tip and more about the james bond hidden camera angle.  group of activists/film makers/divers infiltrate the most notorious dolphin slaughtering area in the world. pretty badass movie and eye opening if you didn't know this shtein was still going on.

its complicated -- my girl loves these chick flicks so occasionally i give in and watch one, and considering i love alec baldwin in anything i thought this would be ok.  and he is the best part.  its watchable but really isn't funny at all.  if you are into old people and awkward situations you might enjoy it.  worth seeing just to hear meryl streep say "i like a lot of semen."

up in the air - i actually wanted to not like this, simply for the fact that most movies that get this much acclaim don't live up to the hype.  but it's great.  great acting, good characters, simple story line but so well done.  kinda touching, funny and very real.  probably my favorite of the year, up there with the hurt locker.

District 9 -- bad on a '98 Eagles level

Wanted -- I watched the first 30 minutes and turned it off, it was so stupid

ice grillin you

i havent seen it but easy youre the first person in the country that has said anything negative about district 9 much less outright rip it

Meh, District 9 was OK.  At some point in the middle it goes from documentary style to straight-line film, and really jumps the shark.  From a symbolism perspective, it works.  Maybe too rote from a movie perspective, however.

phattymatty

yeah i saw district 9, i thought it was a fun movie.  lots of action and a pretty fresh take on the alien sci-fi movie.

big fan -- patton oswald did a pretty good job but what a farging loser.  depressing.

This is what I thought as well.

I'm surprised to hear people bash District 9. I thought it was really good. It was a good sci-fi/action/special effects movie with an engaging story. You can basically count the number of those that have been made in the last decade on one hand. The documentary style made it everything that Cloverfield was trying to be and failed at, meanwhile the action and special effects were excellent.

Weirdos.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Can't wait to see District 9

The Hangover - Heard so much hype about this movie, it just did not follow up. It had its moments, but there have been a handful of better comedies in the past year alone. It wasn't that funny - 2.5/5

if by wasn't that funny, you mean hilarious with 1000% re-watch factor...then i agree
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

reese125

you really got to question peoples sense of humor if you dont think The Hangover is funny. The one-liners alone make the flick, but again if your sense of humor blows you wont understand the one-liners.

mussa--Im sorry you blow.

Sgt PSN

ok, so the hangover isn't unfunny like mussa suggests but it def doesn't hold the re-watch value that sunny says either.  i saw it and laughed my ass off but it's definitely not one of those comedies that retains it's laugh factor very well.
