Thought Avatar was fun.  The story was a bit of a retread but the fight sequences were well done and the visuals were stunning.  I imagine it will be less than appealing on DVD so if you're going to see it, do so in 3D in the movies.

As I said, the appearance was phenomenal.  But the group I was with were ridiculing the dialogue and plot by the mid-point ala MST3K.  And it's an ass-numbing 2.5 h long.

Father Demon

Watched Inglourious Basterds last night.  Great movie.  Of course, anything QT does is great.  Didn't care for the subtitiles in it - sometimes they flew by too fast or were on too light of a background to read, so we had to just go with the flow and context.  All in all, liked it a lot.

8/10.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

The length was really self-indulgent. There was no reason at all it couldn't have been at least 40 minutes shorter. I mean, it's not like they needed the time for character development.

Brothers: 7/10

Tobey McGuire was pretty farging good. Very believable and really nailed the part. This was a pretty intense movie. Natalie Portman is a piece of ass.

The BIGSTUD

Early picks for movie of the year?
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Seabiscuit36

Public Enemies was blah, good cast, no story, just didnt do anything to how he was.  The History Channel version of it was better

She needs to stop getting good roles soon so she can be reduced to doing porn.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Inglorious bastiches was pretty damn cool/enjoyable. I wasn't expecting to laugh as much as I did. Brad Pitt doing the Italian bit was hilarious :-D

That one crazy dude that seemed to highly enjoy killing nazi's was awesome, kinda pissed he died.

I love WW2 history but I would have preferred the war ending that way.

Stiglitz was the shtein.  The reaching into the guys mouth to rip out brains was impressive

I saw Up the other day.  Very good and surprisingly mature.  Was expecting a kid movie.
