ha

so Virginia fired Al Groh.  Maybe Golden ends up there?

MDS

maybe, rumors are they have an in house guy they like

i think golden sticks. if he was all about the best new job he wouldve gone to ucla 2 years ago. i think hes gonna try to turn temple into boise state east until penn state or something too good to pass up comes open.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

Yes - it's totally plausible that they're going to replace a 40-plus year dynastic head coach at one of the top 5 college programs in the entire country with a guy who "resurrected" Temple - a program so awful they actually got kicked out of the Big East.

Seriously - that was Munson-like on the stupidity scale.

MDS

i didnt say they would, i said hed hold out for the chance to get that job.

my understanding is hes really only gonna bail on a cant miss stop, like coaching a program that may be able to win national titles. uva, umd aint that. some people are linking him to notre dame. i doubt its true, but if it is, hed obviously take it. from what i heard bob stoops is a shoe in there.

unless Stoops doesn't want to leave Oklahoma.  The name I keep hearing for ND is Brian Kelly from Cincy....

being in the awful acc virginia has at least as good a chance to make a bcs title game than notre dame does

and al golden didnt turn down the ucla job as he was never offered it....he simply removed his name from consideration

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

MDS

ive had people on the in, not some chubby govt working loser, tell me directly he turned it down. i trust them. not you. he pulled his out name out of the syracuse discussion last year, but he was never really in it.

of course he/temple are gonna tell people it was turned down....makes dopes like you think temple is better than what it is...plus is makes al look moral and good

the fact is no offer was made and if it had been he would have been all over it

its nothing thats been widely reported. they sent out a press release about the syracuse thing cause they wanted everyone to see how golden was in contention for a big east job.

im pretty sure you are basing your thoughts on pure speculation while i actually have valid information. why are you arguing with me about temple? you dont know anything about temple.

nowhere ever was it reported that any offer to any coach (much less golden) was made at the time he dropped out....it would have definitely leaked to someone in the LA or philly media

ill believe that over temple and al golden who have every reason in the world to spin it how they did

it has been said in the philly media. its not something that they sent a press release about, but this is all where its coming from. i farging went there and covered that shtein for 2 years. i knew what was going on and talked to people who knew more.

youre just going have to trust me on this one, skippy.

Looks like Weis is out and the ND players are voting on whether or not they deserve to go to a bowl game
