being in the big east and winning 5 or 6 games every so often is good enough. no one is demanding being ranked.

unless the big east essential folds and re emerges as a D1AA conference or at the very best a non bcs POS conference temple has no chance of ever being in it EVER

thats the whole reason they kept a d1 program. they could have easily folded into a d1aa. but, figured if they got their shtein right and won in the mac, down the line, they could get back into a bcs conference and pull in that major $.

they also stayed d1 due to big time donors refusing to give $ unless they were d1, but the big picture plan behind all of this is to get into a bcs conference. it might take 20 years but they dont plan on being in the mac for long. in fact the contract is up in a year or two. theres a slight chance they go independent for a little if they think something may break in the big east.

FWIW, UD is trying to go D1 at this point.  The Chrysler plant across from the stadium has been for sale, and the school has been rumored multiple times as the buyers.  Only problem is the ground testing, its believed the soil is polluted as all farg.  The ultimate plan by UD is to get a larger stadium, they're currently maxed out at 22k not bad for D1AA.

should be fun actually. doesnt pay bad, either. problem is i got about an hour drive on my hands.
