He wont play QB. No shot...Its been said already, but the NFL is a copycat league and the wildcat worked for Miami last year - enough so to draft a guy in the 2nd round to play primarily in that formation moving forward. 2 years ago, Vick, his throwing skills aside, would have been the perfect athlete for it. I'm sure he's not the athlete he was then, but we've seen his skills with the ball in his hands, and if getting back into shape is what he needs to do to get back to that level, then wheres the risk? Unless you wanna keep Eldra Buckely on the roster and watch him be deactivated for the first 15 games of the season.

There is no risk football-wise. The only risk is through PR and honestly, who gives a shtein about PR? They will lose zero money over this, no one has the guts to sell their tickets and if anyone did they'd be picked up in about 3 seconds. The Linc will be packed every night and it is still one of the top 5 NFL franchises for revenue.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

The stadium was kinda weird tonight when the news broke. Salpal gave a good summary actually - people stopped watching the game..everyone was on their phones trying to see if it was true. Once it was, no one knew how to react..Im actually rewatching the game now because I missed the second half talking about Vick w some dude in a helmet and huge eagle heads on shoulderpads.

The BIGSTUD

People want to like this move, but they are going to let their dog-loving agendas get in the way of a no risk, high reward football decision.

Good thing the people who are angry about it are insignificant and no one really cares what they think. Their negative outcries can't do anything at all. Spitting in the wind.

Not much surprises me in life, but this floored me.  I would have been less surprised if a suddenly alive and hot Terry Shiavo walked into my house with an entourage of hermaphrodites. It literally took me about 10 seconds to process what Hugh Douglas said before I stumbled to my PC.

That must have been a trip as the buzz moved through the crowd.  I could see no one paying attention to a preseason game with breaking news like this, especially that it broke during the game.

I'm looking forward to stories about the draconian Lurie Banner policy on fan signs at the Linc this year.  I imagine people will come up with some good shtein, and the team will make themselves look like iceholes trying to take them away.

i killed 4 dogs to celebrate.

I have a friend from gradeschool who has always been a animal lover weirdo.  She's going on and on about how the eagles are scum, then i find out she's a cowpuke fan.  I love riling up the peta freaks

The dude was convicted of a crime, went to prison, lost all of his sources of income and is now flat broke. On top of that he has absolutely no marketable skills outside of football and organized dog fighting. The criminal justice system is in place for a reason. That reason was satisfied here. The dude should now be allowed to work at the only legitimate career he's capable of having.

I don't like the signing because he isn't the kind of person I want to root for (same reason I didn't like the TO signing) and I don't think he helps this team as a QB (same reason I didn't like the McMahon signing). But the dog fighting shtein is over. He's done his time. What do they want? For his life to be ended? For him to be unable to make a living? People are idiots.

Exactly.  I don't care about his past.  I just don't see him helping the Eagles much this year.  He hasn't played ball in 2 years, and he 's dumber than a fencepost.

He's suspended for at least the first few games, and there's no way to gauge if he's in football shape or not.  If he doesn't help, then we have one more wasted roster spot (like Kolb hasn't been wasting enough of one).
Anyone but Reid.

it has very little to do with dogs....theres a huge racial element here...michael vick to the black community is the huey newton of black quarterbacks and they will go to the grave with him and to the white community hes way to black and represents all the savages in the ghettos of our cities who are ruining the country

if this involved a safe black guy like mcnabb or donte stallworth or a light skinned brother like hank baskett or robert smith the outrage would be far less

the split on wip is crystal clear and basically universal

all the brothers are like man paid his dues deserves a second chance and all the white callers are beside themselves

Maybe sensational sports talk radio isn't an exact indication of the way the world works. Maybe.

According to Sal Paolantonio (sp?), he is not here to play QB but to be a gadget type guy....in the wildcat, lined up as WR in the slot, RB...lots of different things (he said Andy Reid has a vision for him and its not at QB).
