its way to early to make predictions camp is less than a day old...but i have a general sense of doom which is not good as im usually on point with these things...

that said im totally open to reworking their record to a 10-6 or something...long way to go before the season starts but right now there are so many questions and so much upheaval with this team since last year that for it all to work itself out in a smooth manner is very unlikely....but lets give them time

oh the superbowl is out of question....im not even talking about that...theres a big question as to whether they implode and finish last in the division or not....it def can go both ways but all the ingrediants are there for a trainwreck

you cant make final predictions 24 hrs after training camp starts...you can have injuries...suprises...all kinds of shtein can happen btwn now and sept 13

There were only a few highlights from the first practice in pads as Reid kept the ball on the ground to get rookie LeSean McCoy and Lorenzo Booker a lion's share of reps with the first teams. Neither really stood out. Booker had some decent runs and dropped a few passes for the second straight day.

McCoy learned quickly that some of the backfield dancing he did at Pitt doesn't fly in the NFL. He lost yardage a couple of times, but moved the chains other times.

The best running back was third-stringer Eldra Buckley, who ripped off a 40-yard burst for the third offense. He had a couple of big gains.

Curtis will be OK. He colleded with Quintin Demps during receiver-defensive back drills and should be fine, Reid said.

Stacy Andrews only played a few snaps during the live scrimmage. He worked in all the individual drills and "thud" drill, which has contact in 11-on-11 but no tackling. But when the tackling began, Max Jean-Gilles and Nick Cole took most of the right guard reps on first team.

After practice, Reid said the star-studded crew on PUP - Shawn Andrews, Asante Samuel, Trevor Laws and Jason Peters - had shown improvement. No timetable for their first contact practices.

Here a few highlights from the morning session:
* In receiver-defensive back drills, DeSean Jackson roasted Ellis Hobbs and brought in a picture-perfect spiral from Kevin Kolb for a deep gain.

* Reggie Brown caught a 20-yard pass along the right sideline despite tight coverage from cornerback Courtney Robinson.

* Dimitri Patterson picked off a poorly thrown Donovan McNabb pass across the middle to Marcus Thigpen.

* In the "thud" drills, Quintin Mikell would have picked off McNabb's first pass along the right side but lost the ball after he collided with Chris Gocong.

* In 7-on-7s, Jackson made an over-the-shoulder catch on Demps for a big gain down the right seam.

* Brent Celek deftly caught a mid-range pass over the middle from McNabb that was deflected by linebacker Akeem Jordan.

* In the full-contact scrimmage, Hank Baskett turned in the catch of the day by beating Rashard Baker deep for a 60-yard gain from McNabb.

* McNabb also looked good on a play-action pass across the middle to Celek for 40, maybe the second-best play of the entire scrimmage.
