Anyone else besides Rusty check out the end of that Syracuse/Cornell championship yesterday?  Cornell had a 1-goal lead and possession with 14 seconds left, runs up the field, and instead of throwing it down toward the Syracuse goalie and wasting the rest of the clock, the kid loses the ball and turns it over trying to get it to a teammate, everyone panics, Syracuse kid flips it to a teammate, ball goes off the Cornell defender's stick to the Syracuse teammate and it's fired into the net with 4 seconds left.  Syracuse wins 1 minute into OT for back-to-back titles...

yeah, i saw it.  it was pretty damn awesome.  i couldn't believe that dude from cornell didn't just chuck the ball down field.  idiot.  that's why smart people make bad jocks.  he spends too much time in the class room and not enough time in the film room.

was watching college softball for a few minutes and i don't understand why the girls get so excited about making very routine plays.  i'm talking about ground balls hit right to an infielder or a lazy fly ball that the outfielder barely has to move for.  they celebrate and go out of their way to high 5 each other.  on a weak fly to left, the outfielder caught it and the ss ran out there and gave her a fist bump like she just made a diving catch or something.  hell, even when the men make great plays, they don't do anything except maybe give a head nod or a finger point.  i just don't get what they're so excited about. 

there also seems to be no regulation regarding head gear.  some girls wear visors, some don't wear anything.

a few of the girls also have some crazy ish holding thier hair in place.  like sparkly hair clips and ribbons and bows and shtein.  that's gotta be a little distracting when you're standing in the batters box and the pitcher has 15 pieces of flair flapping around in the wind.   

and why do they have football style face masks on their batting helmets? 

at least they wear pants now.  i remember seeing an ncaa game a couple years ago and they were all wearing shorts.

It took #1 Texas 25 innings to beat Boston College last night in the baseball tournament.  One of their relievers had almost 14 innings of no-hit ball...
