The Sixers have never been relevant in Philly except for a short period when a1ds was in town.

But, of course, attendance figures don't translate to popularity, right?

just about every sports fan in philly cares about the sixers. most likely they are 4th on the list behind hockey or big 5 or psu football, but they are on the list. the point is the flyers arent on a farg load of lists (poor people priced out, colored folk) and thusly, the sixers are more popular.

Just about every sports fan in Philly cares about the Sixers?  Really?? Is that why they routinely play to half of capacity most nights and no one watches them on television?

its not just a black and white thing....theres a ton of white people that dont even know what hockey is

then theres a small but vocal and strong segment of whites that will never watch a young black kids get rich just as theres a small vocal and strong segment of people who love hockey and dont even watch the other three sports at all

but go door to door in the area and take a poll of people and sixers/basketball will kill flyers/hockey....once again the difference is that a large majority of flyer fans are complete stepfords who have money and thus will go to games even when they were the worst team in the nhl...and im not cirticizing them for that they are awesome fans but it absolutely is what gives them an advantage in perceived numbers
