pretty sure if we had all thrown empty shell casings on the ground at the march to protest Sean Bell's execution we'd have been cited for littering.

If they are not they should be cited. I fargin hate littering, lazy a-holes who can't walk over to a trash can to dispose of it. My grounds guy at work spends at least 3-4 hours a week picking up garbage, and crap at our schools and along the roads our property sits against it's brutal.

im with dio on the littering...not specifically how it applies to this story but just in general outside of hate (racism - homophobia - sexism ect...) i dont know that anything infuriates me more seeing someone litter...its so incredible ignorant and i will always call someone out if i see them do it even if it means driving up along side someone and saying something about it

i only litter if a see a group of inmates on the side of the road picking up trash and i throw it in their general direction as i drive by.  it's my little way of trying to maximize my tax dollars being spent to house and feed those degenerates.

I have never really viewed the tax dollars spent to house prisoners as wasted money.*  Just the opposite:  I consider it money well spent.



*This statement does not apply to all the non violent drug offenders of course.  Jailing them is a waste of money.

i don't consider it a waste of money either.  with very few exceptions, people are in prison because they deserve to be.  at the same time though, if a portion of our tax dollars are being spent to feed, clothe and house them, then i do think that prisoners should be working their asses off during the day to earn their keep so to speak. 

and partially agreed on the non violent drug offenders.  mary jane is the only drug that i can "overlook."  i don't see any point in spending tax $ on arresting them, prosecuting and sentencing them. 

i still don't know if i can buy off on letting the coke/meth/crack/heroin users roam the streets unmolested though.  and if you deal that crap then your ass needs to be locked up for it.  non-violent or not, dealers need to be face some sort of punishment.

There's a significant difference between coke users and coke dealers. Don't lump them together you ignorant fartcloud.

Legalize drugs and use the tax windfall to treat addicts. Shady dealers disappear, reducing crime and money spent fighting their crimes, people with problems get legitimate help rather than being ostracized and occasional, recreational users get left alone.

This isn't rocket science.

i didn't lump them together.  said i wasn't really sure what do to about users, but that dealers need to be locked up. 

legal or not, people are always going to look for a way to get high.  if that weren't the case, than we wouldn't really have drug problems to begin with.  and no matter how much sense it might make to legalize them, i can't say that i ever see that happening in this country.
