The leftist circle jerk continues on :CF.  Let's just call it like it is, and be done with the pretenses.

While I could absolutely do without ATV's extreme left nonsense, some of these protests were laughable.

I agree with Demon that protesting is actually a very good thing, but the obvious motivation behind some of these people should give everyone pause. Nevermind the fact that even the well-intentioned protesters are off-base on their anti-tax protests.

If people had protested the tax code as absurdly complex and blatantly biased towards big business rather than the general population (rich or poor), they would be spot on and I probably would have joined them. Instead, at its best it was a protest against this phantom menace of socialism or a super-progressive shift in the tax code, which is idiotic and ignorant. At its worst it was an opportunity for people to say dangerous and racist things about the elected leader of our country.

In conclusion, ATV should be lit on fire. But these ignorant far-right reactionaries should be tossed on the fire with him.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

It's funny and/or sad how your completely obvious post is a refreshing piece of new information in this thread.

Can someone please explain what these ppl are protesting anyway? I am pretty sure the majority of these protestors are not the rich who are getting a tax increasing. I am pretty sure the majority of these ppl fall under the grp of ppl who are goign to get a tax cut.

The tax increase is still less than what it was under Reagan, the Republican supergod. How is this socialism? Do these ppl even know what socialism means? Or did they just hear Rush and or Hannity saying it, bought it, and now honestly believe they are living under a socialist Muslim tyrrant?

Also I am pretty sure if someone went back and checked those McCain Palin rallies we could spot the same ppl we see in these pictures. I think they fail to understand the concept of "losing an election" and equalize it to losing the country and democracy itself.

I would like to think that many of them are protesting the corresponding value we receive for our tax dollars in this country and the general fiscal irresponsibility of our Federal government in recent history.  But, most of them probably would not even understand what I just said.

The fact is that an increasing majority of Americans are going to be paying little to no Federal income tax, the Republican party has a lethal mix of hatred and pandering in their message, and the leftward slant of the country is not going to be as temporary as simply losing one election.

At this point, I don't even give a shtein about the tax rate.  I just want the government to make some effort to collect the revenue more efficiently and spend money more wisely on the right things.  Don't just throw a bunch of money at ridiculous pet projects and specific districts of the more powerful members of Congress.  Actually DO something to change the country.  Health care?  Great.  farging do it.  Education?  Great.  Lots of places across the nation need help.  Energy?  Super.  Go for it.  Just do it within what you collect for a farging change.

I find it hard to believe that the only grammatical mistake was the lack of the apostrophe in OBAMAS (sic).

Seabiscuit36

the # of grammatical errors on the signs was hilarous.  It's like the whitetrash beacon went out, and they all got their cardboard.

In all seriousness, this is the one I tend to agree with:

This country is already filled with a whole bunch of slackers and freeloaders.  How do you incent people to work when you are incenting them to suckle off the teat?

rjs246

That doesn't even deserve a response. Are you familiar with the squalor that the unemployed live in?

I saw enough white collar welfare slackerism and ineptitude in seven years at a montstrously profitable corporation to know that how much you make has very little to do with how hard you work or how talented you are, even at the captialist valhalla.

A whole gang of privelaged people doing very farging little work making gobs of money.

Sounds like the leadership in our country, all of them.
