I dont play organized anymore, we're talking about putting together a team again, but i got so fat i'll be like Barkley on the blueline.  IGY and i've had this talk before, i dont see myself as a homer, sure i follow what the team does daily.  But i'm not some orange tinted glasses flag like so many on FP.  I dont think the Flyers will win this round, and it'll be Pens in 6.  The wildcard is Biron, if he's the Biron he was against Montreal they will win, but i just dont see that guy showing up again.  That said farg Pittsburgh

well as i told you i do think youre a flyer homer...maybe be cvause that board is so bad you see yourself as not...but you definitely are...you most certainly arent an all sports homer but flyers fans are different (see below)

flyers fans in general are pretty much as bad as skins fans. there are the types that think hockey is under covered then when more people watch womens bowling or poker than it they blame the media. hockey is a great sport, but it is what it is. blame the nhl and stop slobbering over everything coates and jj say.

i also honestly think so few people know the game that they just buy what they hear on the broadcast. i am the first to admit i wouldnt know a cross check from a slash but im not a big flyers guy. so few people in philly grow up playing hockey yet many like the flyers. the only hockey they see is the flyers and they only analysis they hear is wip and the tv guys. there in lies the problem.

the funny thing i think sb plays a lot of hockey and should know the game yet he is a giant homer. so....

all hockey fans are diehards for their sport...more than any other sport theres easily more hockey fans that dont care about any of the other big three leagues

where the flyer fans are different than any other philly fanbase is the unbelievable stepford element they have...homerism in philly sports is less prevalent than in any city in the country...except for the flyer fans...ive never seen fans care more refs in my life...like today sb is already talking about how many penalties the refs are gonna call...four hours before the game is even starting...they are so preoccupied with that kind of crap they cant even enjoy the game

washington fans for example will whine like bitches about the refs more than anyone ive ever seen but at least they wait until the game is over and their team has lost


flyer fans are def not like the average philadelphia fan...probably because so many come from south jersey and that hell hole delaware

yea but its more a lot of trashy flyers fans who magically like a sport where all the players are white dont know shtein about hockey. they cant skate, theyve never owned a stick, they just like it cause its a good sport and its all small white dudes.

that mentality then leads to people not knowing the game. like who didnt play pick up or rec bball and baseball, high school football, tackle football, etc. just doing makes you actually know the sport. you have to jump through 1000000 hoops to play hockey here. gotta pay for rink time. gotta pay for all the gear. gotta have 1 kid pay for goalie gear. its a whole thing and its harder when you live in an area where its mostly above freezing in the winter.

ok the game is starting so enjoy that but the point is not enough people in philly know hockey and the "lack of respect, us against the world" mentality of flyers fans vs. philly sports scene leads to the homerism.
