perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

What the hell is she drinking? It looks like gray water from a washing machine. That's what her problem is right there.

FRISBEE GOLF

out here on the left coast, this "sport" is freaking huge.  i was down in san diego for a couple weeks last month and a buddy of mine takes his family out to play every weekend.  now, as a family activity, i can buy into the concept seeing as kids like throwing fribees, it's outdoors and relatively cheap.  less than $20 for a family of 4.  but it's actually a competetive sport.  i decided to tag along one weekend to see what the hype was all about.

18 holes ranging from 200 to roughly 500 feet in legth.  instead of a hole in the ground, there is a metal pole sticking out of the ground with a giant basket about 2 or 3 feet off the ground that you have to throw the frisbee into.  holes are set up on the par system like regular golf, based on the degree of difficulty and distance for each hole.

so i figured you just bought a frisbee from wal mart for a couple bucks and just went out there and flung it around until you got it in the basket.  wrong.  there are special frisbees that you use and they are all weighted differently so that they are able to travel different distances.

so we get out there on the course and i was expecting to see a bunch of families out there and maybe a few beer drinkers.  wrong again.  there were "professional" and "semi-professional" frisbee golfers out there.  instead of carrying a golf bag with clubs, they have these special back packs and man purses to carry their frisbees in.  they have towels clipped to them, cleaning brushes to scrape mud and dirt off their frisbees and pouches for water bottles.  and these guys are freaking SERIOUS about this shtein too.  rather than just throwing a frisbee like a normal person, these guys would stand about 10 feet behind the throwing line and then start spinning in circles like they are throwing a discus in the olympics.  and they all run after their frisbees too like they're farging labradors.  and for some reason, socks and sandels seems to be a major fashion statement in the frisbee golf world.  i know......it's hard to imagine that a professional frisbee golfer would dress like suck a dork, but it's true.  i was just as shocked as you are.

so through out the course of the day, i spoke with a few of these discus tossing dorks and met a guy who claimed to be the #3 ranked frisbee golfer in the state.  said he earned about 200k last year in tournaments.  what?  200 farging k to throw a frisbee and chase after it like a farging dog.  this dude made 200k last year for playing a game of fetch by himself.

no wonder our economy sucks so bad.   more importantly, no wonder our country as a whole is in the crapper.  bunch of farging douche bags running around in socks and sandals throwing frisbees all over the place.  idiots.

I played frisbee golf a few times, every time involved smoking a bowl on each hole.

ha!  it was fun.  would make a decent rec activity and i'll probably even take my kids out to do it over the summer.  i probably shouldn't be suprised that there is a professional frisbee golf league, but i am.

I got into it last year, bought 2 discs. I just carry them in my camelpack. There are 2 decent parks in Lancaster, PA. It's fun I am pretty good for a beginner, beat a group of guys who had been playing for years. It's def. a hippie sport so you'll find the long haired sandal wearing crowd for sure. We def. don't run to each hole, thats retarded if you ask me. Best shot I ever made was about a 45 yard toss right into the basket, total luck.

yeah it was total luck, I was golfing with 3 other friends they all turned around with their mouths wide open, haha. it wasn't in the woods or anything, no real obstacles, wide open gricehole so it wasn't really challenging, but def. worth bragging about
