I don't think Florida has the internets yet; they're still waiting on free solar powered laptops from the U.N.

That's probably true in Gainesville and Arcadia.

For years I refused to believe that Deliverance was anything other than two hours of some fat dude getting raped by hillbillies and purposefully avoided watching it. Well, I guess I got a hankering for some fat dude porn this morning and watched it and holy shtein was it a good movie. I'm not sure it has any rewatchability to it, but it was intense and really well acted.

As a side note, what the farg was up with Burt Reynolds' ribbed pleather vest? Did you old douches wear that shtein in the early 70s?

Your opinions are super.

Besides you should love this movie. It basically mirrors all of your theories about the south.

saw a bunch of movies this weekend, some old, some not:

Gran Torino - really good movie, great story, hilarious racism, Clint Eastwood doing his best Christian Bale/Batman voice.  Understood the ending, didn't like the tidy bow it wrapped everything up in.

Traitor - nothing special or exciting about it.  Cheadle was good but the movie was vanilla and pretty boring.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - stupid, but funny...whatever

He's Just Not That Into You - wow...this was one for the girlfriend, and even she hated it.  2 hours of boring dreck that i thought had about 5 different endings, then nope...20 more minutes.  it was just a boring piece of garbage full of typical relationship movie cliches.  they tried to spruce up a terrible script with a bunch of big names but they failed, failed, failed.  to top it off, i had to watch a trailer for Madea goes to Jail.  i understand racism a little more after that.

I wondered why the hell the Madea flick was getting so much run. I looked at the show times on Friday and the theaters here were showing it about 11-13 times a day. WTF?!

He's Just Not That Into You...the trailers annoy me. "He myspace'd me!"....even my girl, bless her heart, doesn't want to see it. Like you Sun, I thought I was destined to end up watching that. Whew!

I finally watched Hotel Rwanda...oh my, what a good flick.

middle aged black women love the madea movies. sure it wont play well in iowa but around the way every tanisha and tashonda is goin.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
