Because it's grounded in reality. Some movies would outright blow if they weren't based off a true story. Shawshank's a good movie but it just became less interesting when I found out it was fake. I guess I wanted to hate the warden in real life...like haha he got that farger good. Knowing the guy never existed made my revenge rager go limp.

It proved once and for all that Stephen King is a pretty good pop story teller beyond the suspense-gore novels. Of course, so are lots of people and his actual writing sucks balls. Never written a serious, important sentence in his life. Kinda like me and you.

Dio's dislike of Stephen King makes me laugh. I can't imagine caring. He is what he is and doesn't try to be anything more. He's no Oprah for god's sake. farg Oprah.

why do people give a shtein if its based on a true story or not? It's a movie for gods sake. Its like when people say they can't get into sci-fi movies because 'They aren't realistic'.

Also...true story, false story...its still a farging story.
