Anyone seen a good movie lately?

its a very good movie...but the internet has raised it to ridiculous levels...maybe its the circles i run in but ive honestly never met anyone in real life that loved it...everyone i know thinks its a good movie nothing less nothing more

check imdb...i wanna say its the highest rated movie in the sites history...if not its in the top three

how is this possible when ive never heard anyone talk about the movie (good or bad) except to say that tnt plays it on a loop


in the real world its just another good movie...on the net its an all time classic...youll never convince me otherwise

My point is that everyone recognizes it as a great movie and has since it was released.

It clearly isn't the third best movie of all time, but it's a damn good movie that TNT plays on loop.

I liked Shawshank a whole lot more when I thought it was based off a true story. Once I found out it was 100% fiction it lost some of it's luster.

Ha. I just checked IMDB and I'll be damned if IGY isn't right. It's ranked #1 in user ratings there. Of course The Dark Knight is ranked #6 so the list is utter nonsense, but still, you shouldn't let other people's ignorance impact the way you look at the movie. It was a great film. Not the best move ever made, but great none the less. Just because some monkeys got a rager and voted for it on IMDB doesn't make it any less of an accomplishment.

I too have never thought Shawshank was all that.  It's pretty good, no doubt.  But I don't get tight in the pants over it.  It's not The Wire for farg sake.
