Carrabba's is worse than Olive Garden.  At least at the Garden, you can get the soup, salad, and breadsticks for $6.99.  Carrabba's is overpriced garbage.

BUFFALO, N.Y., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- A poultry producer's reorganization has contributed to a chicken wing crisis ahead of Super Bowl XLIII, suppliers in chicken wing capital Buffalo, N.Y., say.

The Dec. 1 Chapter 11 reorganization filing of Pilgrim's Pride Corp. of Pittsburgh, Texas, has reduced the nation's wing supply, Buffalo suppliers say.

Add to this the fact that national wing demand this time of year far exceeds that of other times, like chocolates around Valentine's Day.

The combination has made prices soar, suppliers say.

"Forty pounds (of wings) would be like $85," Sam Musolino, owner of Sammy's Pizzeria in nearby Niagara Falls, N.Y., tells WIVB-TV, Buffalo.

He used to pay only half that amount, he says.

Musolino says he is so fed up with how much he's paying for wings that he's calling on other suppliers to boycott them Monday.

"Pass it on to everybody (so) that ... nobody could serve chicken wings for that day," he says.

No word on how big the boycott will be.

Buffalo's La Nova Pizzeria sells wings to shops around the world, WIVB says. But even with that much business, it still feels the pain of higher prices.

The price of chicken wings has gone crazy. I've taken to buying breast, cutting them up Julian style, breading them, deep frying them and then coating them with a homemade hot wing sauce I have the recipe for. Not quite as good as the real wing due to the fact that you have no skin, but at times you can pick up breast for as low as .99 a lb. That is twice as cheap as wings are now a days.

Like I say, maybe not quite as good because of not having the skin, but they are still pretty good if you do the breading right, and no bones.

Today was the first and last time that we will eat at Carrabba's.

Other than the bruschette w/ roasted tomatoes, the food was underwhelming and certainly not worth a 40 dollar bill. I had the spaghetti and it was piss poor. The sauce was watery and for 12 bucks I could have made it better with some Prego sauce and whole grain noodles from the grocery store.

I've eaten there once, I had some rotini with chicken dish that was okay. Their caesar salads are decent. I wouldn't go back.

Rome

We have an Olive Garden on the beachside area of where we live and that place is always busy.  No hyperbole either - I mean it's literally busy from the time they open in the morning till they close the doors at night.

I ate there once and couldn't believe how awful it was.  Not a single redeeming characteristic about the place whatsoever yet it's busy as a motherfarger even during the offseason.

The BIGSTUD

Restaurants in general are the worst. Sometimes they are ok if you are really in the mood to dine out, but otherwise I'll pass. The food is expensive, and factor in tips and waiting for your food. That is why Philly is the best. Just drive 10 minutes from any part of town and you can find a great sandwich shop and wait 10 minutes at most for your meal.

I'll take a hoagie, meatball parm, cheese steak, roast pork, chicken parm over whatever a restaurant will offer any day with all factors included.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Except Olive Garden doesn't use its customer's money to fund their enemy.

Red Lobster ownership is rabid fundie, gives lots of money to Republicans.  I doubt the throngs of black folk who eat would care even if they knew.

well, Americans are stupid.  probably the least intelligent country on earth.  they follow the ads and for the most part eschew unusual flavor.  they like to know what they're going to get.  they require parking right outside their destination.

it's pitiful and not a day goes by I don't curse them all to hell
