Gran Tarino: 3.5/5

I really liked this movie but those kids almost ruined it for me. Why in the world were they cast? I could have acted better.

I'm 4 minutes from Newark, DE.  20k students on campus, probably pushing 8-10k in the 21range.  Not to mention a wide open market for 21+.  I've been saying for years they need a movie place that serves, hell even if they only show two movies, have two bathrooms with TV's setup so you can still watch the movie when you're pissing

its more of a town than you give it credit for.  Anyway, Let The Right One In was great, other than the fact that i watched what i think may be child porn

lakeview terrace - awesome vehicle for samuel l to ham it up...that guy at his worst is better than most actors...overall the perfect netflix get...something you would never in a million years see in a theater or even rent (do people still rent movies?) but a very enjoyable netflix watch...an excellent so bad its good movie in the same vein as a roadhouse

the invasion - sort of an adult version of the superb dawn of the dead remake...except it tried to be political and message oriented...lots of iraq war references...also had an underlying hate george bush theme....i loved that part and liked the movie...like lakeviewterrace was a very good netflix watch

lakeview 7/10

invasion 5/10

It really was. I've recommended it to a lot of people and when people finally get around to seeing it they've all liked it. I mentioned it a few times in here. Really good movie.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Rome

I hated Lakeview Terrace.   Jackson deserves better than pieces of shtein movies like that.

The Changeling (1980). A nice suspenseful 70s style ghost story. Scary on occasion but creepy throughout and totally engrossing. I don't remember who suggested it but good call.

RockNRolla. Guy Richie is out of tricks. This is essentially Snatch/Lock Stock but not as good. Richie tries to be dark rather than humorous and fails. Jeremy Piven was awful as was Tom Wilkinson who is usually outstanding. I didn't dislike it, but it definitely disappointed me.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Zack and Miri make a porno was amusing at times but basically a romantic comedy.

Still, it's probably a step up from "Clerks 2" and about 800 steps up from "Jersey Girl."

3/5

I just finished watching Glory Road, and don't know how I never saw it before. Great story, and the fact that it's a true one makes it even better. Of course, I'd heard about the game, but never really knew the whole story. A must see for any college basketball fan.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Revolutionary Road:

It had good acting, but other than that it was pretty boring and the story really had no direction. I kind of understand the message it was trying to send, but I think it was a movie with no real closure. I could see people getting bored easily with this movie. But worth checking out if you respect good acting. LDC and Kate Winslet are both real good actors. Also you see some topless scenes.
