According to the FBI complaint, the Oct. 31 meeting took place the same day federal prosecutors intercepted a conversation in which Blagojevich claims he'd been approached by a representative for an unnamed "Senate Candidate 5" who offered cash in exchange for the Senate seat.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Jackson was the candidate.

"We were approached 'pay to play,'" Blagojevich said in the call. The candidate would raise $500,000 for Blagojevich, and an emissary would raise an additional $1 million, according to the conversation.

If true, at least Jackson was slick enough to use someone who represented him and not in person.

The GOP is demanding that auto workers take a pay cut in order to give the companies they work for bail out money...

They made no such demands on financial industry workers and executives to give them a 700 billion $ bail out and I think the auto industry is only looking for 30 billion...

The current package being discussed is 14 billion, I think.

The principal argument for saving for the big 3, which I think is legitimate, is to save all of the many jobs around the country that it would impact. The Repubelicans in Congress, almost all of whom are wealthy, are saying "ok, but only if those jobs don't pay very well".

I agree with Moore, though, that we should just buy the damn companies.
