It could be a while before he has time to play The Riddler:

QuoteDepp Is Disney's Triple Treat

Johnny Depp has been unveiled as Disney Studios' main man, after film bosses announced plans for a trio of movies all starring the Hollywood actor.

Disney chairman Dick Cook revealed the news during a press conference at Los Angeles' Kodak Theatre on Wednesday, detailing plans for upcoming films that would tie Depp to the studio for the next few years.

Cook confirmed that a third sequel to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was in the works, and that he would star as The Mad Hatter in director Tim Burton's forthcoming adaptation of Alice In Wonderland.

And, topping off the list of projects, will be a big screen version of The Lone Ranger, which will see Depp reteam with Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

However, Depp will not take on the lead role of the Lone Ranger himself - he will instead be the hero's sidekick, Tonto.

That looks like the end of a career right there. Lone Rangers? meh...

Sweeney Todd was pretty good but really strange btw...

I finally saw Diary of the Dead last night and f'ing loved it. Easily Romero's best since Dawn of the Dead.

I saw Tomcats last night and it was farging brilliant
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Diary of the Dead 3.5/5 - Documentary style zombie flick. Better than any of Romero's other recent stuff. Bad acting and plot but its a zombie flick so who cares.

rjs246

Oh yeah, the acting was awful. Especially the pretentious film professor and his ridiculous bow and arrow. But hey, completely enjoyable zombie movie.

DOTD 2 is currently in production, here's a synopsis:
QuoteThe "diary" saga continues. Our heroes, trapped in the mansion where we left them, battle waves of ravenous zombies, barely escaping alive. In search of a safe place to settle, they commandeer an abandoned ferry and sail to a deserted island, only to find that it is already populated by a civilization of the dead. Told in the same first-person style that distinguished "George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead", the next episode of the saga is a violent siege set in the middle of nowhere, a desperate struggle for survival, and peace, between two tribes: the living and the living dead. DIARY marks Romero's sixth entry in his horror franchise.

Watched Juno the other night; it was pretty good. Bateman was good in it and the chick who played the lead was funny. When she called the guys dicks "pork swords" I almost died.

Jesus MDS, you never saw Tomcats before now?

I watched Grandma's Boy and the remake of The Wicker Man yesterday. Both were laugh out loud terrible.

Grandma's Boy definitely had some really funny parts but essentially it was just a series of dick jokes strung together in no discernible order. Also, the dude that Adam Sandler is friends with who plays the dealer and talks like an icehole makes me want to murder.

At one point in The Wicker Man, Nick Cage is dressed as a bear and punches a woman in the face. Without a doubt this qualifies as the high point of the movie. Anyone seen the original?

Ha, the folks I'm staying with in WV watched Grandma's  Boy last night after I ate mushrooms.  Needless to say, I had better things to do than waste a nice trip on that garbage.

I saw Grandma's Boy during long flight back from Italy awhile back.  It was actually a little more entertaining than I was anticipating.  I mean, it's a movie called Grandma's Boy featuring Adam Sandler lackeys. I'm not sure how it couldn't live up to expecations based on that.

Re-watched Conan the Destroyer the other day.
It is as bad as Conan the Destroyer is good.
Dino De Laurentiis is still my fav, but this one was terrible.
Still trying to find Red Sonja somewhere out there in TV land.

Watched an old horror movie - Night of the Lepus.

About a rancher who hires a scientist to get rid of the rabbits destroying his land.  Injects them with hormones designed to prevent them from breeding, but instead makes the grow to the size of horses and crave meat.  Definitely in the so bad it's good category.  The foaming, blood covered rabbits were farging hilarious.

What was really amazing was it had real actors in it - Janet Leigh, DeForest Kelley, Stuart Whitman, Rory Calhoun.  Worth catching on the DVR off TCM.
Anyone but Reid.
