QuoteSportstalk 980 says excitement of Usain Bolt reminds them of Sean Taylor on the field

I don't know about you guys, but I thought it would get easier to deal with the loss of #21. It seems like every comment about our defense brings up Sean again and again, and it sure isn't easy to think or hear about. Shehan(sp?) actually reiterated what most of us already think, that Taylor was headed to the HOF.

Many of the callers today seemed quite intelligent, then there was the guy who said Landry will make us forget about Sean. I nearly choked on my Big Mac after that comment. I think Landry has the potential to be great, but no one reminds me of Sean Taylor.

Does the talk of Sean still choke any of you guys up???

QuoteThe Jim Zorn flat top

I think its pretty money. If the skins go on a tear, I might have to rock one myself. Its a good look I think, very aggressive.

Where does this hall of fame shtein come from?
How many Safeties are there in the hall of fame? 8! and none since Ronnie lot in 1984.
He was starting to become a fairly good player. He was not hall of fame by any stretch, even if he had kept it up for 10 more years like Dawkins or John Lynch.

Read that Taylor has suffered a knee injury

QuoteJason Taylor left Saturday's game against the Panthers with a right knee sprain.
Taylor was able to limp off the field, but he was later carted to the locker room. Washington Post beat writer Jason LaCanfora said the injury "certainly looked bad" and Taylor was "writhing in pain" on the field and the sidelines. Not a good night to be a pro bowl defensive end.

QuoteAlrighty, I'm glad I'm still around here. I thought for sure I'd be banned after a game like tonight(I told you I'd be better PCS). This is just a little something I've kind of noticed so far this preseason, that I think we need to find.

In Coach Zorn's press conference, he talked about how we lost sooooo many "Individual Battles, that resulted in lack of game plan sufficiency", or something along those lines. Now I was reluctant to post something like this, since it's preseason and all. But tonight was supposed to be THE NIGHT where we shined on all aspects of the game, but it didn't happen.

This is what I think we are missing. To me, the kind of desire that Sean Taylor played with was unmatched. I'm not talking about his talent, cause it's obvious he can not be duplicated. I simply mean the way that Sean played the game. That "I swear to God I'm gonna rip your ****ing head off" type of attitude. You know?

I think that can directly relate to those losses of "Individual Battles". I hope no one takes this as another "ST: I still cry thread". Just an observation about our current team.

There are only a couple of players I can think of who still have that type of mindset, and hopefully it will rub off on everyone else come regular season.
