Potentially someone could remake that movie really well. Take the story and make it real creepy. Unfortunatly they'll most likely over explain everything and leave nothing to the imagination. Pass...

Who knows... it probably hasn't aged well... but I haven't seen it in years and I when I did see it, I loved it... that's how I want to remember it.

This is at least the 4th time you've said this about at least 4 different movies.

Pretty sure I'm not going to search through this entire thread but just last week you said the same thing about Time Bandits.

But how is this possible?

Only ONE can age the worst, dookie.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I absolutely hate Woody Allen movies. And this weekend I got dragged to Vicky Christina Barcelona. Of course I was easily talked into it when the ladyfriend mentioned that Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz make out.

Anyway, it was the best movie I've seen in a long time. Not to step too far into gaydom, but it was mature and insightful and sexy as shtein and didn't have any of the atrocious Woody Allen humor that I can't farging stand. Also, I don't know when it happened, but Penelope Cruz has turned into a really good actress. Javier Bardem played a bohemian Spanish artist and pulled it off without being creepy or slimy in the slightest (after his opening scene, that is). He is a silly good actor and anyone else would have absolutely butchered this part.

So essentially, take all of the hate and vitriol that I spewed about Match Point and how awful it was and turn it on its ear.

Just watched a torture type movie called Funny Games.

It was kinda brilliant in one scene...the rewind scene (if anyone has seen it). I never saw a horror/thriller suck the hope out of the outcome of the movie as much as that one scene.

Oh, there's a foriegn version done in 1997 and a us version with naomi campbellwatts done in 2007. It doesnt matter which one you watch, they are shot for shot identical.

The rewind scene is a 5/5
the rest of the movie...3.5/5

I don't like Woody Allen either, but Match Point was a really good movie. Another one with Scarlett.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
