Calgary traffic investigators are probing the death of a middle-aged man in a bizarre incident at a southeast Calgary car wash yesterday morning. Police said a motorist ran over a man laying on the ground inside the car wash. Emergency personnel were rushed to the location but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say it's suspected the victim was unnoticeable.

Mendes "touchy" on being a booze hound

Eva Mendes, who quietly admitted herself into treatment at the Cirque Lodge in Utah in January, admits that she's still "sensitive on the subject" of substance abuse problems.

The actress snapped at a reporter for Interview magazine who joked that Alcoholics Anonymous would have to be changed to Alcoholics Unanimous because of the prevalence of problems in Hollywood.

"I'm not making jokes, because people die from this stuff," she says in the interview, which hits newsstands next week. "So, honestly, I think it's a bit tacky that you made a joke. I've got to be honest."

Abbie Hawkins, 19, spent a half-day at work before noticing that a baby bat was hiding inside her bra. From The Telegraph:

    Miss Hawkins said she got dressed at 7.30am and arrived for work at the Holiday Inn Norwich North, near Norwich International Airport without noticing anything unusual.

    "When I was driving to work I felt a slight vibration but I thought it was just my mobile phone in my jacket pocket," she said.
