I usually keep my mouth shut about Gocong (other than to laugh at the fact that Andy Reid drafted a D-II electrical engineer in the second round),

In fact, I think he gets more hate for having been an athlete who actually studied something useful in school than he does for his play on the field. Which is pathetic.

I mean, it's funny on the surface. Who can deny that? I'm not excluding myself from it. We're all used to uneducated, neanderthals playing football and getting arrested and icing out their grills and crying/doing crunches in the front yard/failing at suicide. And we've sort of convinced ourselves that that is what being a football player is. I'm just as guilty as everyone else, which is why I laugh about him being a second round pick. But the dude isn't awful, and the venom that people have about him here borders on the absurd...

Just makes me wonder what the real cause of the hate is.

I'm not complaining about hating. All I do is hate. Do you ever see sunshine and bunnies coming out of my ass around here? What I'm trying to figure out is WHY people hate Gocong so much when his play doesn't justify it.

And you've said in the past that good grades don't mean you're smart. Now you're saying that what you study doesn't make you smart. You've also said many times that you yourself are not smart. So tell me, what does make someone smart exactly?
