Here's the Brennan thing...

A lot of pundits think that Brennan will be nothing more than an Arena League quarterback because he doesn't have the ideal size, throwing motion or overall quickness that translate to the NFL. But the one thing about Brennan is that anytime someone questions his ability, he always bounces back and proves all of his doubters wrong.

In the last ten years, there have been four quarterbacks selected in the sixth round that have gone on to be Pro Bowl players: Matt Hasselbeck, Marc Bulger, Tom Brady and Derek Anderson. I'm not going to compare Brennan with any of the quarterbacks mentioned, but his resiliency is uncanny, and nothing seems to faze him.

Brennan is in the perfect situation with the taterskins to show he's capable of being an efficient NFL quarterback. New Head Coach Jim Zorn brings his West Coast offense to Washington, and Brennan is the perfect QB to develop in this offense. Although he worked out of the shotgun at Hawaii, Brennan has experience in the West Coast system going back to his high school days. Brennan's quick release, accuracy and ability to run the offense will be enough to push Jason Campbell for the starting job in two years.

I would actually enjoy Colt being good enough to cause a QB controversy in Washington.

I called Steuber on his retarded Colt Brennan forecast and this is his reply:

Yeah, the Eagles had three sixth round picks and with their first sixth rounder they selected OG Mike Gibson out of California. Two picks later, the taterskins selected Brennan. I can guarantee you that if Colt stayed on the board for the Eagles next two selections, which were compensation picks, he would have been an Eagle. He's the perfect West Coast offense quarterback. He's in a great situation in Washington and in two years I can see him being the starter.

They selected a developmental offensive guard before a quarterback who's going to be a "starter" in two years.

I doubt there was much begging.  Vikings win, because they get something out of nothing.  For the Skin's, it's a very low risk move for a former first round pick.  If the kids knees hold up, great move.  If not, they're out a 7th, no big deal.

SANTANA MOSS PARTIED TOO HARD TO MAKE MONDAY'S PRACTICE

We told you yesterday that the taterskins were without LaRon Landry and Shawn Springs at Monday's OTAs but we didn't tell you that Santana Moss also missed the practice.

The official reason given was that Moss had the flu but he came clean on Tuesday to the Washington Post. He was sick but it was because he spent the whole weekend celebrating his birthday, it was on Sunday, and the body takes a little bit longer to recover at 29 than it does at 19. "I told them you think you're still young and you can still hold up, but they all know what time it was. Have to chalk it up and be ready the next day," Moss said.

As for the non-party related absences, Landry showed up today and said he was taking care of family matters. He practiced with the first team. Springs was absent again, however. Despite reports that it was simply a missed flight that caused his absence, it seems likely that the Skins won't see him until training camp.

Moss spent the practice catching bombs from Jim Zorn who, based on the above and the Fred Davis situation, is clearly running a looser camp than his predecessor.

While shopping at Lakeforest Mall earlier this week, someone stole my taterskin car magnets. I was ticked that someone took my "Go Skins" one because I don't see it in stores any more, I can't find it online, and I really like that one. But taking my one in remembrance of ST really got to me. That one's easily replaceable, but I found it very disturbing that someone could steal a commemorative for a deceased person. When talking to a neighbor, she said that someone had stolen an American flag car magnet off her car. What's up with this country where people are stealing tributes to dead people and symbols of patriotism?

By the way, they left my Met car magnet on the car. They took only my two taterskin car magnets (all three had been across the back of the car). They must not have seen my taterskin antenna topper because they didn't take that.

When I headed back to the mall to get a replacement ST car magnet, the taterskins Store employee told me that he's heard a few people say that they have had their taterskin car magnets stolen. He recommends that people pull them inside the car when they're parked. Realistically I won't end up doing that, and besides, I need to see those car magnets on the back of the car to help me find my car in a parking lot!

Has anybody else had car magnets stolen? I find this situation unsettling. I also want to give a head's up to others about this problem. Only in America (and perhaps other developed countries).

It's not just particular malls.

We had an Orioles flag stolen off of our car at Disney World.

When we travel to places like Disney World and rent a car, we always pack a window car flag. It really helps you identify the rental car in a crowded parking lot.

We had previously done this for 6 or 7 prior trips and never had an issue.

That type of stuff can happne anywhere....

"honey, did you pack the rental car window flag?!?"
