I'd love to see him pick Biden.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

It's embarrassing how Clinton's people are now organizing to get her the VP nod.

Rome

It's even more embarrassing that anyone in the party wants her to get the nod.

I'm really going to enjoy watching them commit suicide over the next six months.  They deserve nothing more.

The only sense I can make of what is going on is that they are testing the waters - Hillary is continuing to run to keep her base "energized" while the party tries to figure out if a joint ticket is a positive or negative.  I get the sense that Obama could get bullied into this option by the Clinton's power base in the party - if that is what she really wants.

Politico did a 5 reasons why there should/shouldn't be a joint ticket bit.  I think it really comes down to whether or not they can spin the cat fighting they have been doing for the last 3 months.  How can people ignore the nasty attacks and fundamental philosophy differences?

I don't think it can work, which means they will probably try.  Both of them are fading in the polls, so they better do something soon.

It will be fairly amusing to watch the democrats piss this election away. Especially when the surrounding the circumstances led this to be a slam dunk.

Only the current democratic party can be so short sighted and stupid to lose the practically unlosable election

The problem I have with the ineptitude of the Democrats is that it allows the Republicans to continue to suck and get away with it.  Hopefully, Ron Paul will find a way to throw a reality check in there.

Democrats = tax & spend
Republicans = tax only slightly less & spend just as much but on different shtein

Not Ron Paul, Bob Barr.

I am using my monumental 9,000th post to agree with you.

I feel so dirty.

There are rumors of Paul's people raising some hell at the Republican convention.  He's said all along that he will not run on a 3rd party ticket, because he considers himself a Republican.  I admire his enthusiasm, but he's a Libertarian if I've ever seen one.

Just don't forget to use your 10,000th on something better.  Like agreeing with IGY.

What nasty attacks ???   It was a political friggin love fest for craggy sakes.  Both sides were so afraid to say anything wrong it was almost a meaningless primary.  It could not have been any more "sterile" than it was.  Mr. Obama needs to learn what capital gains taxes are, how they work and who gets hurt if/when you tax them.  He also needs to lean thet there 50 states not 60 :-D :-D :-D

PoopyfaceMcGee

His list of "things to learn" is still a lot shorter than yours, though.

Admittedly I'm only involved in this election because a)I think this country has farged itself into a corner and b)there is a candidate who is in a position to try and change the way things are done, but 61's repeated dismissal of Obama as a legitimate candidate confuses the shtein out of me.

I don't know any better than anyone else if Obama can or will change anything but I don't understand the mindset that a 70+ year old career politician who hasn't even been able to stand firm on issues is somehow a better candidate. Is it fear of change? Is it a firm belief that experience in the way things have always been done is the way things should continue to be done?

Honestly, I'm curious. McCain vs. Obama, what is the rationale for voting for McCain?

It's going to be simple for me:  I already pay more in taxes than I should pay, and I think our "free market" economy already has AIDS.  Obama has a lot of ideas that would work in a country full of intelligent, resourceful, and hard-working people.  But this is America.  So, the net result of an Obama Presidency would simply mean that I pay more taxes and get shteintier health care.

Actually, I might not have to pay more, because my wife's in the pharmaceutical industry and would likely have many fewer career opportunities with a socialized health care system.

Socialism will never work in America.  So, I will ultimately choose the candidate that will farg me in the ass less.  Despite what might have happened in Hanoi, that candidate is going to end up being McCain.

Ahhhh, farg it.  Let's go eat some paste.
