And Tucker seems even smaller because he's such a weasel.

okay i had to google pierre mcguire, but im guessing im him because we both know nothing about hockey?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteGreat News for Directv subs.

Channel 603 (The SD VS channel) will have an alternate map tonight for an HD feed.

This was just posted in a directv forum on dbstalk by a dtv employee. There were a bunch of us complaining about the Golf channel issue and they listened and responded. Kudos to them for respecting the customer.

You may have to channel up or down one channel on 603 to get the 603 alt usually something like 603-1.

Hope this helps.
They are saying the game will be in HD on MOJO tonight in the Philly area.

5. Of the four remaining teams, which arena is the toughest to play in?

Burnside: I'm guessing Wachovia Center in Philly given that Flyers fans are whacked.

Hradek: Philly! You never know when a friendly Flyers fan is going to drop into the visiting penalty box.

Melrose: I think The Joe is the toughest to play in because it's different, older than the others. There's no flash and dash there; the dressing rooms are worse than the newer buildings. No lounges or anything for the players. All the buildings will be packed and loud, but The Joe is different. Of course, if you're looking for sheer craziness, you don't get any crazier than Philly.

7. A Philly cheesesteak or a Primanti Brothers sandwich?

Burnside: Overtime on this one. Cheesesteak. No onions.

Hradek: That's easy ... Philly cheesesteak, baby!

Melrose: Oh, man. Both are good; it's a tough choice. But I have to go with the sandwich, like Primanti Brothers. I'm a bread guy; I'm a cheese guy; so, it has all of my favorite foods there. Anything that's fried, I pretty much love. I come from a "fried" family.

8. How do the Flyers rebound from the absence of Kimmo Timonen?

Burnside: They don't. He is the one player they couldn't afford to lose and still have a chance to win this series.

Hradek: Everybody else on the defense must step up. Young Braydon Coburn must be a lion. Replacing a quiet star like Timonen won't be an easy chore.

Melrose: That's a tough loss because he plays the most minutes and plays against the other team's top forwards. He's also been paired with Coburn, so you're forced to break pairings up. He might be the toughest guy on Philly to replace. One option is to move Derian Hatcher up. It will be interesting to see who takes that job.

Steaks are better and it's not even close. And I eat at Primanti's all the time.

Quote8. How do the Flyers rebound from the absence of Kimmo Timonen?

Burnside: They don't.

I agree there. I don't think Timonen was the Flyers' best player, but he was the most irreplaceable at this point in the postseason. The Flyers winning the series would have been an upset before... now it's going to take a Flyers miracle combined with a Penguins choke job. It's not impossible, but in Philly sports we don't get miracles that often.

Nonetheless, I'll be watching all of the games, and in Penguins territory, starting with a Penguins playoff house party tonight. I want the Flyers to win this series so farging bad.

and he played defense in that series....maybe this one too?

You do realize if they move Sami to D, that means Downie probably plays right?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

QuotePHILADELPHIA -- Mourners lined up in the pouring rain Friday outside a cathedral to pay their respects to slain Philadelphia police Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski, who was fatally shot in the line of duty.

During the funeral Mass that followed, Liczbinski's son, Matt, lightening the mood, asked the mourners to chant and clap loud enough so his father could hear them cheering for his favorite team, the Philadelphia Flyers.

"Let's go Flyers, let's go," the crowd yelled. "Let's go Flyers, let's go."

They chanted just hours before the Philadelphia Flyers take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game One of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The slain sergeant's son also talked about his child-like admiration for his father, saying a friend recently told him, "You're the only 24-year-old kid, like an 8-year-old, who still thought his dad could beat up any other guy in the world."

Before the Mass began, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey spoke of Liczbinski's heroism and told his family they will never be alone.

"Every day, we send men and women into harm's way, patrolling the streets of our city, knowing full well of the danger, but also knowing there's a job that has to get done," Ramsey told the rows of packed pews.

"Steve is not a hero in my mind because of how he died," Ramsey added. "He's a hero because many years ago he made the decision, he answered a call, he knew that he wanted to help others. ... He chose to become a police officer."

He looked at Liczbinski's family.

"We'll be with you tomorrow, next week, next month," he said. "We will be with you forever. We can't bring Stephen back ... but what we can do is honor his memory, his legacy, honor each and every one of you."

Liczbinski's open casket was lined with framed photos of his family. His love of the Philadelphia Flyers was also on display: his casket's lining bore the team emblem, and a jersey and flower arrangement in the shape of the logo were on display nearby.
